i've tried many AI slide deck builders. None of them quite fit what I want. Tried using Claude too. It can't design. Also tried Claude Design -- it does well for net new, but not for importing a design system from Figma. May have to build my own (shakes head).

I took a look at my calendar for the week last night and decided which meetings I am going to attend (sunday night ritual). It looks so insane that I’ve decided to just start my day off in running clothes so I can clear my head between meetings.

@adamwathan let's change that! I am hoping that AI helps us create business frameworks, just like we do with OSS, to make it easier (and composable) for anyone to start a business. Less franchises, more mom and pops.

As a Canadian whose life has been completely changed by entrepreneurship, it's hard to describe how disappointing this graph is 😕 Hopefully we can turn this around, it's in everyone's best interest to cheer for, celebrate, and support your builders.

On house size discourse- We raised two children in a 1012 sqft house (3 bedrooms, 1 bath) and raised three children in a 1600 sqft house (same house, remodeled to be 4 bedrooms, 2 baths) - all while one of those bedrooms was used as a wfh office. Our kids are 11, 8, and ~3 now, and we moved to a bigger house just 8 months ago because bigger bodies, more room for hobbies, treehouse, etc. Which is not to say you shouldn’t treat yourself, but stop saying dumb shit like you need a 2500 sqft house to raise a baby. Babies are famously small, and ironically the smaller your house is, the less likely you are to lose them.

@VicVijayakumar 998 sq/ft here with a 3 and 5 year old. I love our townhome, but definitely feels snug at times. We have also changed furniture so many times as the girls (babies) grew.

this is basically an impossible hell for them lets say your goal is to create your own ecosystem user wants to run a cron job daily that runs `claude -p` to clean up my emails - awesome! love supporting our users oh they publish that script to github. cool! more people use it it gets popular so they add more scripts for more useful automations. haha cool i guess lets wrap this up neatly into a nice ui so non-technical users can use it. hmm smells a lot like a claude cowork competitor but it's small so whatever i guess it blows up and has a million users. uhhh fuck

I don't know what the fuss is about. Anthropic's rules on using subscriptions are very simple: Claude Code = OK Claude's online platform = OK Agent SDK running in personal software = OK... ish? Agent SDK running in commercial software = NOT OK Claude Code running in CI = ?? Oh, maybe it's not so simple... Agent SDK running in CI = ?? claude -p running in CI = ?? claude -p running in personal software = OK claude -p running on open source software, but run on my personal computer = ?? claude -p running on distributed sandboxes, kicked off by me = ?? Distributing open source software which relies on claude -p, and documenting how to use your subscription with it = ?? A thousand other edge cases = ?? Let me be clear. I have never before experienced, from any developer tool, such a frustrating lack of clarity over the basic terms of usage. I personally asked, 3 weeks ago, and have received nothing but delays. The recent @bcherny announcement did absolutely nothing to clarify things. I say this as someone who just released a Claude Code course - my incentives all align with supporting Anthropic.

TL;DR it works. You can do it, with some degree of high fidelity (still reviewing final analysis) The big con is you'd be using a lot of tokens and running out of usage often. So prob. not the best tool for gathering all the context. But it does a good job when it has it.

It also stops quite often and you have to prompt it to continue and be exhaustive (it also needs and index/way to track progress). But it gets it done. BUT..

One of the projects i've worked on since the early chatGPT days is building an automatic competitive analysis. Now i'm revisiting it, and trying to use the AI tools natively. A bit more background... 🧵
