This is the first time I've ever seen anyone call FFV grindy. Other games in the series? I can see it, but FFV is not that hard of a game. There's nothing in the game so crazy that you'd need to grind THAT much.

lol. Yall are passionate, but it is what it is. 5 has one-dimensional characters (and a terrible villain), a way too grindy system (Tactics clears), and is generally a huge step backwards from 4. But even a person’s least favorite final fantasy is still better than other JRPGs.

@AntifaCostanza FF1 and 2 have HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE dungeons. Too big, hazardous ground, trap chests and fake rooms. You're forced to explore some rooms, get disappointed, lose too much MP and return to nearest inn over & over till you find the boss.

People play devils advocate a lot for FF2 but I think it's pretty close. Some of the worst dungeons I've ever seen. You visit like 80% of the towns in the first few hours so then the rest of the game is just daisy chaining between the terrible dungeons.

@IdkLBOZO619 @ActualAero Man it's not about *voice* acting. Compare the complexity of a FF7R scene to one of P5. Also, the combat, the scale of the world, the animations... Characters are not stuck in one place talking and doing one animation. It's time to accept that dividing was the best way🙏

@EdgesLara @ActualAero Both rebirth and remake are poorly paced with scenes that don’t need to exist. Simply cut those parts and have the good stuff in a full 70$ game and I’m sure it will be fine. Also as far as I’m aware, the p5 dialogue is fully va’d as well, so your kinda contradicting yourself

@IdkLBOZO619 @ActualAero P5 is just some text boxes with 3 PNG sprites, you can't compare it to the scale and story of FF7. If you think Rebirth is poorly-paced, an entire modern FF7 would be worse, rushed and reallistically with way more cuts.

@EdgesLara @ActualAero That’s definitely an opinion ig. There’s a lot of stuff that could have been cut to make the pacing feel more natural so it could fit into one game but if u want to spend money for every release, that’s fine by me I suppose. P5 proves that 100 hr+ games could work

This isn't just a nintendo thing, there's a huge phenomenon of game devs refusing to make sequels that actually follow up on their predecessor's story (even for narrative heavy franchises) because every installment needs to be a potential "entry point"

Unpopular opinion but the Roxas prologue of KH2 is one of my favourite parts about the game. A lot hate on it and it just makes no sense it has better pacing than majority of the rest of the game. The prologue feels the most magical part for me until late game.
