@Pete194 @ScotRail @on_lothianbuses Hi Pete, we have been instructed not to move trams through the closed area because of concerns that vibrations could affect the stability of the building, and because safety cordons have been established in case the situation changes. ^AS

@EdinburghTrams @ScotRail @on_lothianbuses Is it impossible to transfer some trams, separately at a slow speed through Princes Street, to Newhaven? This will obviously be VERY BENEFICIAL to your customers who can then have use of the more frequent, and quicker, tram service to and from Picardy Place. Frustrating, clearly!

@janemoir7 Hi Jane, You can, however, you can not return via Waverley station. For your return use the 25 bus to Shandwick Place.

@EdinburghTrams hi..can I buy a return Princes St tram ticket at Ingliston and take the tram to Gateway then get on train to Waverley using my tram ticket? And use same ticket for return from Waverley? If so..how does the tram ticket work at Scotrail barriers?

@EdinburghTrams @Williams101010 Hence my idea of asking to use the westbound track (south side of Princes St) overnight ASAP, with vehicle escort between West End and York Pl crossovers, to allow 4 trams to reach Newhaven and run a shuttle to Picardy. Otherwise we could be without trams throughout the Festival

@bigmcben Hi Keith. Trams are cleaned and maintained at the tram depot. All trams are also safety checked before being allowed out on the line, this generates a lot of noise and would be intolerable in the early hours for Newhaven residents.

@EdinburghTrams Newhaven has space for 4 trams but you don’t use it. With Princes St currently closed, if you did keep 4 trams there overnight, you could have a 15 minute service between Newhaven and Picardy Pl. Why don’t you do this instead of returning every tram to Gogar?

You can travel on the tram from the West End with a bus ticket from the 16 or 25 Lothian bus, however, please press the Help Point button at the West End tram stop so the ticket inspector can be informed.

Why should I bear the financial consequences of there being no tram on this route? Normally, there should be some replacement transport on this line

@EdinburghTrams Crazy. Who is risk assessing a tram passing a building that is no longer on fire for 10 seconds… just because they are “emergency services” doesn’t make them right.
