Last week we did some preparation for the Checkhov's Cherry Orchard. Written for Moscow Arts Theatre when he was very ill, Checkhov was disappointed in the first performance and felt he was misunderstood. Just before the Russian Revolution.

There were always questions troughout A Splinter of Ice. @OriginalTheatre Why was Greene really there? Did Philby have any regrets, even after denial? Did they betray each other? It kept us guessing and was very informative. Subtle changes in their relationship throughout,

A Splinter Of ice @OriginalTheatre was well acted and beautifully filmed. Two old friends, still unsure if the other is trustworthy. Always an undercurrent. The close ups showed the many emotions and feelings from both parties. The last look at Philby, a little smile, sadness?

Should you suffer a witch to live? Especially if there’s a bonus for putting her out of her misery? Trouble follows Leith’s Preston family into the 17th century in this latest Citadel audio play based on William Haddow’s historical novel.

This week we discussed the background to @OriginalTheatre new play. A Splinter Of Ice. About a meeting, after 30 years between high level spy, KimPhilby and Author and fellow spy Graham Greene, who allegedly based TheThird Man on Philby.

This week we did somereadings in prepartion for John Byrne's Tennis Elbow, with @lyceumtheatre and @PITLOCHRYft This is based on his earlier play, Writer's Cramp. A play with OTT exaggerated characters, who we laugh at , not with. The master of Parody.

There was a high standard of acting from all, with excellent, passionate performances from the two protagonists, locked in to their compulsive natures. This production drew you in from the beginning. The ending was very compelling, as Salieri realised he had lost. @NTLive #Amadeus

Our class loved @NTLive Amadeus, an inspired production, with the orchestra on stage at all times and musicians doubling as actors and the scenery. The filming was excellent, very clear, with well timed close ups. Clever use of lighting prevented big scene changes.

Unwelcome visitors? Foreign ships in a violent naval battle at the Shore. Your man’s ex turns up looking as stunning as ever. It’s another round of troubles in Leith in this new episode from William Haddow’s historical novel on citadelgoesviral.com.

Our class did some preparation for #Amadeus by Peter Shaffer. About the rivalry between Mozart and Salieri. The latter realising the younger man is a better and cleverer musician that himself. Also raging against God for giving this intruder these talents. @NTLive
