1. This is honestly long overdue because for a long time they turned Maul into a jobber who hasn't gotten to aura farm and win since like Clone Wars Season 4. People have started downplaying him because of that. He needs to be propped up again first.

@EdisPrime It's over 2 hours of Movie where they could have add nuanced ideas and instead wastes time on boring Casino planet fetch Quest, that was ultimately futile anyway. 😆

I always say The Last Jedi is the Lazy Man's KotOR 2, it believes it's nuanced, deep, and revolutionary when ideas like it have already been done. 😅

It's a shame that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 is often remembered as "the unfinished sequel not made by Bioware" because it actually improved on the formula of the first game in many ways. - start as a Jedi - no level cap - subclasses - combat stances - party members can become Jedi - far more item variety - DEEPER STORY On top of all that, you can install the Restored Content Mod and have all the stuff you thought you were missing in the first place. In my eyes, it's the perfect Star Wars RPG. Do not sleep on this game!

Take for example SAO

@Jaereku It in general explores systemic oppression and how it negatively affects many groups of people.
In WHA's case it's a very good analogy actually as WHA's magic is performed by combining: drawing art, science, cooking, technology, fashion etc.
Instead of being just pure soft magic.

Now, I've only just started the anime, but if this is Witch Hat Atelier's core thesis, it comes off as extremely libertarian and strange.
Though this is a common problem with fantasy stories using magic as a metaphor, especially for knowledge. It makes for a very clumsy analogy.

And Dunmeshi is unremarkable to me precisely for that reason. I’m not interested in stories whose selling point is the author’s worldbuilding and complex ecosystems. That is bland storytelling.

@EdisPrime The characters are unique and the art is very pleasant! It's certainly something I would continue to watch if further seasons are made. It's just not the kind of story that is particularly compelling. It's a solid 7 which is good, just not *great*

While Full Metal Alchemist is very good, I almost feel it's too "good" for its own good - the insane acclaimed reputation in the West is partially due to being seemingly "inoffensive" to non-anime watchers. That is, many fans have a Phantom Normie peering over their shoulders.
