🚨New preprint from Legacy study @TheCrick & @UCLHresearch. ⏩biorxiv.org/content/10.110… 👉We asked: "What's a 'normal' COVID vaccine response?" 🤔 Turns out there's 2 kinds of 'normal' in healthy adults 🧐 — and this has implications for protection vs. future variants 🤒.🧵 1/n

I’m so grateful to have been awarded 2 Ideas Grants ($2.8M total). I’m really excited to grow my team and see what we achieve over the next 4 years. Both projects are on Streptococcus pyogenes: 1) studying immune responses after infection, 2) developing a man therapy for iGAS.
Translational Medicine at Monash University@MonashSTM

Now open! Incl an IgA nephropathy project in my group. We will fill in gaps in pathogenesis, aiming to better match new/upcoming drugs to each patient, and to find angles for next generation of treatments to remedy. Please get in touch if you want more info.

100% out of my comfort zone, but an honour & a privilege to be asked to speak at #Drivingdiscoveries today. Sharing my inner most thoughts & fears was hard, but essential to do so to give an understanding of why the research funded by @Kidney_Research is so imperative.
Kidney Research UK@Kidney_Research

A special thank you to Melina, who captivated the room by sharing her story and highlighting what #KidneyResearch means to her and her son Charlie, who has nephronophthisis.  Hearing the emotion from her personal journey throughout the speech is a firm reminder that we are more than just research. We are a community, advocates of people living with kidney disease, and we put patients at the heart of everything we do. Thank you again Melina, it was an honour to have you with us today💜 @Formerlytigger

LFDs are of course great for lots of pathogens. But we tested 5 different commercial #Mpox *antibody* LFDs to see their utility for diagnostic/surveillance use, and they aren't great...from 0% to 56% sensitive! thelancet.com/journals/lanin…

Incredibly excited for the launch of Pathoplexus, which I've spent quite a bit of time helping with over the past year. New, open-source, infrastructure for sharing viral sequence data!
