“If Twitter’s journey epitomizes the sentimental truism that the real treasure was the friends we made along the way, then the story of its demise will begin the moment we could no longer find those friends on that darkened timeline.” eugenewei.com/blog/2023/7/6/…

Zoom is so strange — they went to all the trouble of doing a calendar integration and the one thing I need is to flip an offline meeting to a Zoom meeting and they gray it out so I can't get a link and update the event directly from Zoom

Anyone that owns Raya actually have a good rank? I see a team with Raya, Double Spurs and DCL and know immediately they’re ranked at something horrible like 750k OR or similar.

Growing up, I learned to be generous toward my neighbors, compromise without compromising my values, and to work for the common good. @KamalaHarris and I both believe in that common good – in that fundamental promise of America. We’re ready to fight for it. And like she says: when we fight, we win.

💯. Having spent 1/3 of my career in that space, if nothing else, the sheer innovation in networking and infrastructure tech creates real tech debt in this space every decade and an opportunity for new companies to do what Zoom did out of thin air and in the face of a very saturated tech stack (connect, Skype, WebEx etc.)

There will be a new Zoom and Slack in the next 3-5 years Why? Both are very focused on enterprise, expanding product suite, and expanding out of core SMB and tech users It's just natural

@acagamic @espositoandrea_ The right method doesn’t depend upon personal preference. Both are tools better for different context. Cornell better for memory, the other if you are in an organizational context where you have actions to take or delegate. (I try not to post on X, but this compelled me)

@espositoandrea_ Most notetaking approaches boil down to personal preference, Andrea. There is no right or wrong. Just whatever works for you and your brain.

Apple Vision Pro initial feedback. For context I’ve been using Apple products for 40 years and sold them for a decade starting in 1984. I’ve been tracking VR since the ‘90s and have owned most every commercial VR / AR headset ever made. Apple did a phenomenal job with this product - including the ordering and pickup process at the store. Exceeded my expectations as well as most every review I’ve read, and also seeing reactions of others getting demos at Apple today. The 30 minute in-store demo was the best tech demo I’ve ever seen. (The previous best demo for me was seeing the HTC Vive VR demo at Steam’s HQ in Jan 2015) Darryl in the Ardmore PA store was a fantastic guide and I’d encourage everyone to go to a store and get a demo for yourself regardless of whether you’re planning on buying one or not. It’s super intuitive - easy to think of as an extension of your Apple world just like the Watch and CarPlay - but in a new immersive interactive world. After using dozens of other VR controllers it was a bold and smart move for Apple to eliminate controllers and just use hands and gestures. Photos and personal videos are stunning. Movies and TV are like being in a full theater. It might be the first device to pass the “VR Turing Test” - say you want to watch your favorite sporting event or movie, and you have a choice between watching on a regular large screen TV or on your VR headset. Which do you pick? This is the first headset that could be your first choice. I haven’t even set up my own or downloaded any dedicated apps - only the 30 minute demo in the store. This is not yet for the masses, it’s expensive, and will remain an oddity when you see people wearing them in the real world. But this “new, new thing” is the real deal and congrats and thanks to Apple for launching us into Spatial Computing.
