@AC_RumCorps2022 @EdmondMuyera @OurNewHomecoach I used to play guitar (badly) more or less by ear - never was music that’s for sure. Played piano all my life by ear (had abt 8 lessons as a youngster) only able to read top hand. I’m doing ok but enjoying it very much. Annoyed that some of the piano keys have started sticking!

@EdmondMuyera Yeah that’s a lot of trial and error. You can look around different piano arrangements of songs online for different sounds and skill levels, and it’s going to take a long time to get a full song down. Also playing around with improv helps too.

I finally tried playing a song I wanted to try (by ear on the piano) and it was actually super easy and I got the hang of it super quickly

@ShadowsJoys I intreprate musical notes.. That is the only method I'm currently using to play piano.. But I would just like to learn playing piano by listening

@EdmondMuyera Also you can find sheet music for basically any song ever on the internet, tho you might have to pay a few bucks. If you don’t know how to read sheet music, it’s not too hard to learn and there are some apps/websites I can point you to.

@ShadowsJoys Thanks for the advice.. I was almost quitting.. Because I'm not capable of playing by listening.. I really on musical notes which is tiresome... I would just like to learn how to listen and play piano

@EdmondMuyera It’s a bit of both. My mom taught me from when I was really young, but I’m generally really good at music and instruments. It’s a lot of fumbling around and it’s really just whatever works for you. You also have to be good at messing up and not judging yourself for it.

Take time in 1 scale to feel the 3rd, the 4th, 5th, 6th Play in 3rds + 6ths on white keys - your ear will pick out a line of a tune, go where intuition takes you Believe + never quit trying 💯🎶

I’m reading the NAMES of the left hand bc I can’t read the 🎶. If I play by👂it’s much easier but doesn’t have th same shall we say 𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 to it
