investment in new clinical sub specialties has occurred in most acute trusts but why hasn’t that resource been prioritised towards emergency medicine. # priorities
Chris Moulton@DrChrisMoulton

@RoyLilley @nursemaiden For many years, at the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, a very small group of us campaigned for more beds and more hospital staff to run them. This was not really visionary thinking, given a growing and ageing UKpopulation. We were comprehensively ignored. @RCollEM @NHSGIRFT

Proof the British press cannot be trusted in their reporting of anything to do with Prince Harry. Media lawyer Jonathan Coad calmly educates Good Morning presenters on how court proceedings actually work and corrects their hate-driven narrative.

These videos from Gaza are being suppressed by some, fearing the truth will be revealed, exposing their false humanity to the world. A 10-year-old child cries after losing his tent and shivers from the cold. Don’t let them silence this. Share these clips, let the voices of our children be heard, let the world see the full truth… without any masking, without any distortion.

Your last paragraph is crucial... but will never happen. @bishopSarahM will hide as she is at present, behind the protecting veil of Luther Pendragon. They are likely to go with her to LamPal. The next Archbishop will embody the Via Protectiva.

I have been reflecting much on Katie’s comment here. With her I pray also for Wisdom & her gifts of discernment & humility for Sarah as @OfficeofABC. Primarily I pray for that in relation to the many victims & survivors of abuse @churchofengland who are looking for that repentant sea change of culture that all of us require with urgency. It is the victims and survivors who who have been damaged in our communities who are closest to the Christ of this Advent season. Christ comes to us both as a vulnerable human child & as judge of all human in/action for the good of God’s Reign of justice & peace. It is those who have abused in our communities who mediate Christ in vulnerability & in judgement for us. They are the ones who tragically in the present reveal God’s unmasking in Christ’s life & the paschal mystery of all our human abuse & sinfulness among us. This is the fundamental theological & missional question that is all so overlooked when we put Safeguarding into a box of just another thing we do. To follow Christ is to be called to give Life in all its fullness. To be a priestly people is to embody that. To abuse people is to destroy Christ’s mission. The mission @churchofengland in the present needs much more humility. In the face of difficulties now being revealed in her time as bishop of @dioceseoflondon I pray that Sarah things very carefully about what it may now be necessary to do for her ministry & God’s ministry through the Church to have any moral credibility. At the very least, she needs to postpone her becoming the archbishop, commission an independent review into the Safeguarding culture of the Diocese of London in her time, and when that is reported upon outline a timeframe within six months in which recommendations will be completely actioned.

Madeley: "What about this figure.. it's generally accepted that a working couple with 3 children would have to earn a min of £71,000 to be at the same level of income as parents just like them with 3 children who are on benefits" "Just like them" This is simply not true #GMB
Paul Lewis@paullewismoney

This is simply not correct as it compares a family with disabilities on benefits with a working family without them. See Centre for Social Justice which (sort of) makes that clear. Without disabilities the result is very different.

So @northumbriapol published a story this morning regarding a man who attempted to rape a stranger on a street in Sunderland Ian Hudson, 42 years of age, targeted a woman who was walking home on 30th December last year. He approached his targeted victim from behind, after following her along the road, then over powered her and dragged her to the floor whilst physically and sexually assaulting her... A younger man, Hamzah Albar, (24 years of age) was walking by at the time, witnessed what was going on and immediately confronted the attacker which made him flee the scene. Hamzah then pursued and caught up with Hudson, detaining Hudson despite being punched in the face. Police were then called by two more passers by and now Hudson has been convicted and sentenced to 9 years imprisonment for eight offences. We aren't hearing much about this story which is qwhite interesting.

Putin was in danger of failing in his Ukraine war. Now the US peace plan gives him everything he wants — even the parts of the Donbas his troops were incapable of winning. Ukraine, the injured party in this war, gets absolutely zero.

20,000 bricks make up the average 2 storey new house & all we ask is that 1 of them has a hole in it - to save a species and preserve an entire category of birds who live alongside us. Labour hated the idea to put a 3 line whip against it. Talk about betrayal.

Since early morning, my family and I have been living in a state of total psychological collapse. Today we learned that our homes, our land, and our entire neighborhood, every house belonging to our family and our neighbors, have been completely erased. Bulldozed. Flattened into a barren stretch of yellow dust. From the first light of day, we have been living the full meaning of defeat. We have lost more than seventy members of our family. We have lost our land. We now have no home to return to, no walls to protect us, no place left to call our own. And then, one of Hamas’s leaders appears on television declaring that “the people have not been defeated,” that “Gaza has stood firm and fought a historic war.” So let history record this: I, Dr. Ezzideen Shehab, from Gaza, together with my family, my friends, and their families, did not fight any war. We were the victims of an annihilation ignited by Hamas from within our homes, only for the Israeli army to descend upon us and unleash its full cruelty on the civilians of Gaza, while Hamas’s fighters vanished into their tunnels. Let history record the truth: we were defeated, utterly, painfully, and completely defeated. And it is we, the people of Gaza, who have the right to say whether we were defeated or not, not those who sit comfortably in Qatar or Turkey. We were crushed, humiliated, and broken after our city was destroyed, occupied, and erased from existence. We were displaced, stripped of everything we had built, left to wander through the ruins of our own lives. And somewhere amid all this, I understood something simple and terrible: My mother’s tears are holier than the homeland itself, and my father’s brokenness matters more to me than any flag. Because what meaning does a homeland hold when it devours the ones you love, when it glorifies death but forgets the living? We were not steadfast. We were held hostage in our own land. We could not leave. We could not change those who claimed to rule us. We were trapped between a merciless occupier and rulers who feed on our suffering. And if there is one moment in my life when I must speak the truth, without fear, without hesitation, then this is that moment. Let it be written clearly: We were not soldiers in a war. We were the bodies buried beneath it. #GazaGenocide
