Kate Smurthwaite has blamed OASIS after nobody attended her Edinburgh Fringe show. The 49-year-old — a ‘left-wing, feminist, atheist, polyamorous activist’ — blamed the Gallaghers for getting ‘zero audience’, despite her shows being FREE. Oasis play Edinburgh on Friday. 🤣🤣🤣

Huge thank you to the Trust who messaged me today to tell me they are buying a copy of my book SEND Strategies for the Primary Years for every single TA in their trust!

SENDIST accepted my request to expedite re: Brum LA refusal to assess SEND boy's ECN. SEND Tribunal hearing date late November. This seems a long time, but it's 5 months - takes 6 weeks to process then year (hearsay) to hearing. SENAR would be wise to revisit their decision.

Hey @wesstreeting the bloke who mows my neighbour's lawn and weeds the borders is on £20 p/h. Why are some resident doctors paid less than that? 🤔

The promise of longer prison sentences may win votes but won’t stop crime! We already have harsher sentences than any other European country including Russia. But all the research shows though they don’t lower crime or successfully rehabilitate offenders, they are very expensive!

Dr 🫥:. #Autism or #dyslexia. Anxiety kills
Please remember there are three types of autism: 1. Celebrity autism - the “autism made me do it” excuse - got caught 2. Excuse autism - the “I believe I have autism” excuse to hide being a nasty chap in work 3. Autism - the genuine diagnosed version that is disabling

Anonymous Post: Has anyone noticed a change in parental attitudes? Not long ago, parents appreciated our extra effort. This year feels different. In Year 6, we’ve prepared for SATs, organised trips, and more, but no thanks. After a week away with their kids, parents collected them without a word or smile. It's disheartening. Is anyone else seeing this, or is it just us?

Ruth Miskin was on the 'sector panel' advising the new govt writing document. The document includes a new emphasis on handwriting. And very soon after, look what comes out:

Hmmm. A Bill to require #send training is part of teacher training. bills.parliament.uk/bills/4001 Seemingly benign, but this could be the foothills of a broader reform about shifting #sen provision (and #ehcp) substantively into mainstream schools

Do parents know that, under IDEA, their kid who receives services for dyslexia might not even have dyslexia? The school evaluation is not a diagnosis. Seems like something more people ought to know.

@MoreMorrow Because beaches aside, it rains most of the time, is flooded with London money and has breathtaking levels of poverty and isolated, out-dated villages everywhere.

@RogersHistory I'm not sure why there is all this fuss. I've done the job. Yes it's tiring at times but, like many jobs, there are rhythms and predictable levels of intensity. Let's not forget there are peerless levels of holiday (13 weeks in state sector) which more than makes up for it.

I've decided that trying to explain to someone who has never been a teacher the things that make it particularly challenging is mostly a waste of time. Some are abstract (The tiredness generated from the performance element) and on the intensity of the job - you can only compare to what you can compare. Only way is probably to do the job for a term. Politicians would particularly benefit from this, as well as some activists on here.
