Three weeks from today B will be going back to the OR for his next surgery. Then two weeks after that, he will go back to finish the final two procedures on his legs. We are hoping and praying for great results and recovery. I am so tired. This year, my family and I have existed in survival mode with little else. From our first consultation in January until now, every thought, every ounce of energy, every financial decision, and every discussion has been preparing for this time and these procedures. Brody has sacrificed more than anyone, obviously. Physically, yes, but he gave up track this year. Gave up months of his final year of elementary school. Gave up swimming. While other kids his age are playing baseball and soccer and traveling for fun, he's been confined to a wheelchair much of this year and the times we do get out of the house are largely for follow up appointments and physical therapy (which he is crushing). Eight weeks in total that we will have spent in Florida, off work, to get this done. Countless other days/weeks/months preparing ourselves and our businesses for that time both logistically and financially. In his 11 years, he will have had 13 surgeries by the time we finish these procedures. We will give him a break after this. He needs it. We need it. If you're wondering why I've been MIA, I haven't had the time or energy for much. Cats football, Bengals football, two things I usually follow closely and get excited about have been merely at the edges of my radar (and that's how it should be, I'm not complaining about that). I bust my ass at the office to keep that ship afloat, try to fit some kind of workout in to keep myself somewhat fit and strong, do the best I can to be present with the kids before they go to bed, do the best I can to have some meaningful time with Marcella, and then collapse into bed for what often is not restful or restorative sleep just to get up and do it all again the next day. He's tired. We're tired. I'm tired. We are so ready to have this in the rear view and get back to some sense of normalcy and life again. God is trying to teach me to trust Him through this. That's proving harder than I would like to admit as a Christian. You have all come through for us time and time again. Please continue to lift Brody, my family, and myself up in prayer as we conquer THIS valley in the coming months. We need it and we appreciate it. Thank you all for having our back. 💜

@NaijaPrinc3 IMO, if we get to keep Kas and Pelle, resign Wiggins, and get Powell to take a team-friendly deal, we’ll be fine. Heat always find solid bench players. The problem has usually been that they can’t all get playing time..

It’s an interesting test of morality. In 10 years, nobody will care how dirty the Spurs or Thunder were. We’ll just remember who won the series. Would you want to see OKC get dirty in order to win Game 7? Or, remain principled but lose? Is the outcome the most important thing?
