Why Augustine Hill? Unusually Galway grew up in a valley between two hills, at a fording in the river. The two hills still exist. Bohermore to the north and St. Augustine’s Hill to the south. That hill is still there and it’s western extremity is now Forthill. Plus ça change.

His impact on Galway, Ireland and further afield is evident through a variety of schemes that he saw to completion. Our deepest sympathies to his husband Martin, his colleagues past and present and all who knew him and mourn his much too soon loss.

We at Edward are so saddened to learn of the death of Hugh Wallace. For over three decades he was a friend, colleague and mentor. Through the best of times and the more challenging his commitment to his craft was absolute.
