@razorfist He once messaged me privately on FB and told me how "The Rageaholic" used "Hail and Kill" in one of his rants. I actually gave him one of my Punks for Trump shirts at a Ross the Boss gig. He had to hide it from his very crust punk merch girl and other crowd members.

ICE disappeared woman from Utah airport despite legal papers—now been deported. "Why are you arresting me? I am here lawfully!" she yells. "But agents said they 'did not care about that.'" Other travelers stand around airport as she's dragged away—despite no uniforms or ID. ICE then transferred her around the country to 7 different detention centers—over 3 months before finally deporting her. Marta Brizeyda Renderos Leiva said that conditions in the ICE detention centers were unbearable—and the smell of mold made people sick. "The beds next to the walls get wet, the blankets get wet... A lot of people get sick and they don't care or do anything for us," she explained. Her 4 children are all U.S. citizens and cannot afford to travel to El Salvador to visit her. She said her only wish now is to return to Utah in time for her children’s graduations in May.

@mattforney Have you seen the miniseries? That captures Dune the best; not confusing like Lynch's or boring and arty like Villeneuve's, but just straight-forward. It's made by technician director servicing the text, not some "auteur" servicing himself.

I tried watching DUNE PART ONE on a transcontinental flight, fell asleep 45 minutes in, woke up during the last hour, and felt like I missed nothing. Kind of says it all. Denis Villeneuve is the master of creating films that are very well-put together technically but completely forgettable. BLADE RUNNER 2049 has been sent to the woodshed of history and the DUNE movies are boring. Lynch's DUNE is a tough watch but at least it's MEMORABLE. Everyone remembers the "shield practice" scene, Baron Harkonnen getting his boils drained, or him drinking the blood of a catamite. Nothing in DUNE PART ONE has any dramatic impact. I particularly like how the movie hypes up Baron Harkonnen by bathing him in white light only for him to be revealed as a regular fat guy. At least some of this was the actors' fault. The hapless doofus cast as Paul Atreides has no stage presence. In Lynch's DUNE, Kyle MacLachlan grew from an annoying twerp to an awe-inspiring hero. The bit roles in DUNE were masterfully cast as well; everyone remembers Patrick Stewart as Gurney Halleck. Villeneuve's take on the "shield practice" scene is as forgettable as everything else in the movie because the actors...can't...act.

You can get this shit in the Midwest. If you live in a hick town, just drive an hour or three in any direction, and you can find plenty of live entertainment. I lived in Los Angeles for a couple years and did the same stuff there I do in Michigan.
