The speed at which Yuki was coming at Lando he had no way to know where he was going to stop. Yuki had nothing to lose and Lado had to be extra careful

Norris should have a penalty for overtaking off the track. What Yuki did is completely irrelevant, you cannot overtake off the track, the rules are clear. Brundle & Crofty must be commentating with their Lando Norris pom-poms. #F1 #AbuDhabiGP

@BoxBoxAndStop @PringJames21 It is called taking evasive actions. Punishing a driver for avoiding a crash is delusional. It also invites future drivers to just shove the other car out of track and know they will have to give them the position back.

@PringJames21 You still can’t overtake off track. What you have to do in that situation is get off the throttle or give the position back. Then the other guy gets a penalty for forcing you off. You need to go and read the rules mate

@TodayF1History Hamilton has never been top 5 on the grid let alone top 5 all-time. He has benefitted from the largest equipment advantage in F1 history when the FIA froze engine development while MB had a 1 sec per lap PU advantage / party mode engine. Last 3 years = real ability.

@3CFC31LAL33 @the_zb_ Max had always the luxury of being the only driver that matters in RB. If Lando had an assistant instead of a rival teammate, he might have done it. Also, the fact RB has a second team where the drivers move aside for Max and battle against his rivals means he has 3 assistants

I don’t care who your driver is, or what you think about F1, but: If after this season you don’t understand and acknowledge that cars win championships, not drivers, you’re unable to actually engage in authentic and grounded conversations about the sport. It’s always been this way, and it always will be this way. In modern F1, a championship has never been won without the best (or equal best) car over a season, and likewise the championship has never been lost by a driver in one of the best cars. It’s come close a time or two, but it’s never actually happened. Does that not tell you all you need to know? And in no way whatsoever does this belittle drivers or their accomplishments, they have to do the job of beating their teammate and rivals when they’re given the opportunity. You must understand that F1 is an engineering competition with drivers, not the other way around. 🏆 Thanks for coming to my TED talk. 🤝

Sainz told by the team not to overtake Leclerc because he’s been the slower man on track today, and to allow Leclerc to bring the tyres up to temp. Sainz then attacks and overtakes, hurting both their races. This is why he doesn’t have a seat at a top team, he’s not good enough to display Verstappen-like selfishness like he does, and he can’t be trusted to drive in a team context strategically. He simply loses the plot on track, and then will cost the both of them race time, which coupled with the Ferrari strategy blunder for both cars just ended the (slight chance) at a fight for a double podium today.

The drivers who lost most poles to their teammates: 1- Hamilton, 57. 2- Barrichello, 47. Two ways to explain this stat. - Rosberg, Bottas, Russell, etc. are like Senna. - Hamilton drove the best car for a much longer time than anyone else in the history, by far.
