@DLibatique10 Collect everything. Consult colleagues as to what you should actually include. Don't bury your tenure committee. At HC, for example, the assumption is that everyone is writing letters of recommendation, so saying that you did or including the letters is considered overkill.

I know it differs depending on the institution, but what goes into a tenure dossier? I'm starting to organize my syllabi, course evals, publications, professional statements, and relevant communications, but what else should I be collecting?

@LizWFab Teaching awards almost always go to older faculty as well. It seems that we become most ourselves the older we get. I hope you turn out to be a phenomenal teacher in 20 years.

The New York Times has a house style for how to refer to people by name. They need to adopt a house style for discussing embryos as well. If it literally can't ever be born, it's not a baby.

Archaeologists and art historians, does anyone have a fast and easy reference / guide to names for cornice / frieze patterns? E.g. "egg and dart", "meander", etc.? (Are such names normalized? Does such a guide exist?) I saw this at Castel Gandolfo today and it made me wonder.
