Some updates: Today, Varley and McGowan-Fazakerley appeared in court. They're scheduled for a plea hearing on October 13, with a trial set for April 14, 2026. I’ve also learned some new things about this case that somehow make it even more upsetting than what’s already public. Unfortunately... the UK judicial system is more worried about protocol than protecting children, and publicizing these details would actually run the risk of giving Varley and McGowan-Fazakerley a technicality to crawl through. All I’ll say for now is this baby was failed. Taken from his mother and handed over by the very system that was meant to protect him.
