I had a constructive and fruitful exchange with H.E. Obeida A. El Dandarawy, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of #Egypt to #Ethiopia and the @_AfricanUnion. Our discussions focused primarily on the issue of common interest, particularly the efforts and initiatives undertaken by the #AU to promote peace and stability in the #HornofAfrica region, the latest developments in the conflict in #Sudan, as well as the preparations for the commémoration of the anniversary of the adoption of the #PCRD policy framework. We have also addressed the ongoing arrangement for the deployment of the Egyptian contingent under @aussom_. I further commended Egypt's longstanding and consistent commitment to peace and security in #Africa.

Egypt’s Amb. to Ethiopia & AU, H.E. Dr. Obaida El-Dandarawy, met with ambassadors from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Jordan, and Yemen. Talks focused on regional issues and topics of shared interests. 🇪🇬🇸🇦🇶🇦🇰🇼🇦🇪🇴🇲🇯🇴🇾🇪

Amb. Dr. Obeida ElDandarawi visited the Abdi Negashi Cultural Center in Addis Ababa, exploring archives on Egypt–Ethiopia relations. He met the Director to stress preserving this shared heritage and deepening historic ties between the two countries 🇪🇬🇪🇹

H.E. Dr. Obaida El-Dandarawy, Amb. of the Egypt to Ethiopia and PR to the AU, met with H. E. Anil Kumar Rai, Ambassador of India to Ethiopia. The meeting discussed the bilateral relation, and the preparations for the 4th India -Africa Forum Summit, to be held in India, May 2026

It was a pleasure to meet today at AU HQ, with H.E. Dr. Obaida El-Dandarawy, Ambassador of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the AU @EgyInAddis, to exchange views on developments in the Middle East and implications for Africa. We also discussed preparations for the AU Mid-Year Coordination Meeting in Egypt and reaffirmed shared commitment to close coordination moving forward.

Amb. Dr. Obaida ElDandarawy met AU Commissioner Francisca Tatchouop Belobe (ETTIM) to discuss Egypt–AU relations and preparations for the 8th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting to be hosted by Egypt in El Alamein in June 2026, alongside the first Africa Business Summit.

Amb. Dr. Obaida ElDandarawy met Amb. Galla M. Boru of Kenya to discuss enhancing coordination between the two missions at the AU. Talks covered budgetary issues, institutional reform, and strengthening cooperation to support the implementation of Africa’s Agenda 2063.

Amb ElDandarawy met with H.E. Ambassador Chen Hai, Ambassador of China to Ethiopia. The meeting adressed the latest developments in the Horn of Africa, and the ways to enhance Egypt - China cooperation in Africa.

Amb. Dr. Obaida ElDandarawy participated in AU PSC meetings on developments in Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar, within the Council’s follow-up on suspended Member States and efforts to enhance AU support for political processes leading to the restoration of their membership.

Amb. ElDandarawy met Dr. Donald Kaberuka, AU High Representative for Financing the AU, to discuss advancing AU institutional reform and strengthening sustainable financing. Talks also covered preparations for the joint meeting of African Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Finance.

Egypt participated in AU PSC meeting chaired by Eswatini on Women, Peace & Security and AI risks. Egypt stressed women’s central role in peacebuilding, citing African and Egyptian examples, including the deployment of the first all-female Egyptian UN EOD peacekeeping unit in Mali

Egypt’s Presidency of AU Peace & Security Council (Feb 2026): Ministerial sessions on Sudan & Somalia; launch of the PSC Subcommittee on Post-Conflict Reconstruction; discussions on AI, climate-security & food-security; and consultations with suspended AU Member States.

On behalf of HE Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Amb. ElDandarawy signed the Host Country Agreement for Egypt to host the 14th African Games (2027)

Egypt’s AU PSC Presidency (Feb 2026): Amb. ElDandarawy chaired sessions on the food–peace–security nexus with UN agencies (WFP, IFAD) and consultations with suspended AU Member States. Egypt reaffirmed dialogue, social protection, and support for restoring constitutional order.
