She travelled thousands of miles from her fly-in only community to the United Nations to tell the world and Donald Trump @realDonaldTrump - “No Ambler Road.” The Ambler Road is a proposed 211-mile industrial road through Alaska’s Brooks Range to access copper and cobalt mines. Over 60 Alaska Native communities would face restrictions on their subsistence practices — hunting, fishing, and gathering that are central to their way of life. 89 Tribes and First Nations have passed resolutions against it. Environmentally, the road will cross over 3,000 streams and rivers , disrupt the migration of the Western Arctic caribou herd, and open one of the largest intact wilderness areas on Earth to industrial development.

So the Alberta government is ghosting me. Blow this up people: Less than a week ago I interviewed families whose children have cancer. Whose children have autoimmune disease. I listened to mother’s describe their sick children. And then Alberta’s data says those children don’t exist. I asked the province to explain how a child diagnosed with cancer after being evacuated to another city for treatment simply vanishes from the Fort Chipewyan record. No answer. When a government ghosts a journalist with this kind of paper trail, it is a calculated decision. They know I’m watching. They simply don’t care.
