IMENTI SOUTH CONSTITUENCY, MERU COUNTY, KENYA FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2026 The Government is pleased with the quality of works and timely completion of the newly tarmacked Nkubu- Rubiri - Kamurita road at a cost of 630 million shillings. The 11 kilometer crucial transport artery will spur economic growth and improve the livelihoods of farmers and traders, and it will ease the movement of goods and people. The Government is also connecting all the remaining homes and businesses in the area with electricity supply to ensure a complete economic turnaround and increase productivity for the local community. Inspected the newly constructed Nkubu- Rubiri Kamurita road and the ongoing Rubiri Village Last Mile Electricity Supply Project targeting 85 households, part of the 2.3 billion last mile connectivity project aimed at connecting an additional 26,500 households with electricity supply in Meru County. Later on addressed residents of Rubiri Market to update them on the various interventions that the Government is making to improve their standards of living. Priority will be given to the tarmacking of the Kionyo- Kanyakine- Mitunguu road and the equally vital Kieni Kia Ndege- KK Mworoga- Maraa- Kithino- Mitunguu road. Additional milk coolers will be supplied to milk farmers in the area and Nkubu and Mitunguu Townships will get 240 million shillings to upgrade their respective urban road network. With Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma, Meru Senator Kathuri Murungi, MPs Dr Shadrack Mwiti (Imenti South) and Moses Kirima (Imenti Central), MCAs, other leaders and residents.

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan, at the invitation of H.E. Dr. Adarsh Swaika, the High Commissioner of India to Kenya, today held bilateral consultations at the Embassy of India in Gigiri, Nairobi. The two leaders discussed the importance of strengthening cooperation and building strategic synergies in the context of the emerging multipolar global order and in the spirit of the South-South cooperation. The discussion focused on deepening collaboration in trade and investment, ICT and the digital economy, health and pharmaceuticals, education and scholarships, defence and maritime security, agriculture and energy, as well as capacity building and technical training. The consultations also explored avenues for enhanced party-to-party engagement anchored on mutual respect and shared development aspirations. H.E. Dr. Swaika emphasized the need to further invigorate bilateral economic cooperation in order to address trade imbalances and unlock greater shared prosperity for both nations. Sen. Hassan reiterated UDA’s commitment, as the ruling party and custodian of the people’s democratic mandate, to continue nurturing and consolidating the historic ties between Kenya and India for the mutual benefit of the two friendly and fraternal nations. Today's I attended a stakeholder meeting at Nyakach, The meeting was centered on a unified roadmap for the party, emphasizing that Unity of Purpose is our greatest strength. We are calling on all members to speak with one voice and respect the strategic decisions of the party hierarchy as we continue to protect our legacy of social justice and devolution. At the Grassroots level we are empowering local leaders and MCA to bridge the gap between the public and leadership through a direct twoway communication system. This goes hand in hand with an Aggressive Membership Drive, where we are utilizing digital portals to register more youth and women to ensure we have the numbers and the energy required for a decisive 2027. Finally, we highlighted the Tangible Gains of our current partnership in the Broad Based Government. By being inside the room, we have secured economic stability with a projected 5.3% GDP growth, ensured the fair distribution of the KSh 5 Trillion development budget, and ended the exclusion of our people from national appointments. We are moving forward, not just as participants, but as the guardians of the people’s interests. #ODMStrong #UnityOfPurpose
