It's been a while since I've been on X but here's a question to #agtwitter specifically #dairy , Do you test your colostrum? And if so what is the %brix? Thanks

The reason I ask is this is the protocol we're following from our vet clinic, so far I've only had 4 of the last 36 calvings that have tested at least 22, most are below that , it has been suggested to me to expand our calving pack area and also move cows there sooner

@Ekennes So we look for 22+ brix. If lower than 22 we will add replacer if it’s over 20. If it’s lower than 20 brix we toss it and feed replacer

The efficiency of an electric motor and their ability to produce unlimited torque without robbing HP elsewhere is a perfect fit for header, fans, rotors, feederhouse & spreader. Can isolate better while avoiding the heat of hydraulics and forego shavings somehow always get into the header to fuck it up. Literally any big Ag company could have released a D/E first, this is 150 year old technology, but you can’t make money on parts if you reduce them by 60%.
