In this case, this wasn’t a call to cancel that year’s midterms. The 2014 op-ed was a call for a new Constitutional Amendment, enacted through legal means to do away with the two-year election cycle. Whatever your politics, you don’t want to be on the side of people like this.

Posting single isolated instances of ICE errors or overreach is not going to sway me from my opinion that the vast majority of ICE actions and encounters are totally legitimate. No system is perfect. When you're trying to deport millions of people there will always be errors. This is not a justification for halting all ICE operations. Perfection cannot be the enemy of the good. We have a big mess to clean up and potentially not much time to do it in. We must keep going.
