@PPAREUS @theAmericanBen @Variety There are dozens of de facto ethno states. Japan, South Korea, Turkey - home of Piker, Sri Lanka, Arab Gulf states. No one demands those countries accept millions of refugees that would destroy their cultural and national sovereignty. Israel will exist as Jewish. Cope

@RedBloodedMAGA @Viralvid_89 most of the time it's the TRAs overreacting. That's what lost them the pop vote. They would take cams everywhere and try to trap people in a pronoun infraction. She comes off as the bad Karen here, mistreating the workers, her tone is extremely demeaning to the janitor.

@RedBloodedMAGA @Viralvid_89 I've lost more than most people fighting TRAs and transgenderism. There is a time and place to fight these battles. I suggest a calm and determined tone if this is your hill to die on. This Burger King confrontation wasn't a win of hearts and minds. She came off shrill.

@RedBloodedMAGA @Viralvid_89 Meh. This is tricky. I don't like playing the pronoun game of TRAs. But there has to be a better way than what this lady did. She basically just affirmed how important pronouns were... She should have just shrugged it off and said "see look I can handle it so should you "

So we're calling people Karen's for understanding basic biology and having eyes? The autistic male is just that a male. If he wants to think he's woman, cool. No one else has too. I'm sure he'll get fired and be working at another fast food restaurant in no time. Cannot wait for this crazy phase to be over with.

Now that Cesar Chavez is credibly accused of sexual abuse of numerous women, including 12 and 13-year-old girls, I presume we are going to be releasing any and all government files pertaining to him, scrutinize his relationships with other labor leaders and the Democratic Party, publish his private correspondence, and consider as tainted or (possibly even complicit) anyone who met with him or traveled with him, particularly in the presence of young girls. That's how this goes, right?

@scotthraines Interesting take, but I’ve read the greats. Tolkien or Doskovesky (great writers that struggle with good and evil) always have a sort of hope and goodness at the end. There is nothing but destruction in Blood Merdian. It’s like a literary blackhole of emotion

I read the first hundred pages of The Road last year, and read the first hundred pages of Blood Meridian this year, and in both instances, gave up, because the books never clicked. Lyrical writing, but the characters are reduced to way down Maslow's hierarchy, and the tone is so relentlessly bleak, with almost no humanity breaking through, it was difficult to feel anything besides the flint clicking against the cold steel in the overwhelming darkness. I know many of you love it, but to me, it's overwrought, overstylized, and overhyped.

1) Huerta is a terrible person who says babies don't have souls, other insane drivel. 2) If true that Chavez was a sex predator, he was a disgusting person. 3) Why would Dolores attend the funeral, mourn her alleged rapist, gush about him ad nauseam for decades after alleged incidents, then not talk about it for 60 years (or 33 years since his death)? She said this at the time (1993): “He was a great leader, but more than that, he was a great human being… a man of deep spirituality and humility.” 1993: “César gave his last full measure of devotion to the farm workers, to the poor, and to the oppressed everywhere. His life was a testament to the power of nonviolence and the struggle for justice.” 2013: “César was the most selfless person I have ever known.” 1990s: “César was a very gentle person… very humble, very kind.” “He was a man of integrity. Everything he did came from a place of justice and compassion.” 2010s: “He was a good man… a very good man.” “He lived the values he talked about—nonviolence, respect, dignity.” 2020s: “He had a warmth about him… people felt it when they were around him.” Something doesn't add up here, sorry.

Not a Good Jewish Girl✡️@estherzelda0514·
The news about Cesar Chavez raping underage girls and Dolores Huerta is bleak, but expected. This phenomenon, the creation of fucktoys of the revolution, is extremely common, and nonpartisan. Wherever you get a movement or group that is insular and hostile towards outsiders, which demands intellectual purity on threat of expulsion, centers itself so thoroughly in the lives of its members that it becomes a social or even familial community in and of itself, and is centered on a charismatic male figure, sexual assault and the exploitation and objectification of women becomes not just a bug, but a feature. You saw it in the young women that leveraged their youthful bodies for Bernie Sanders' primary candidacy, his supporters that accused foes of being "vagina voters," and then the reports that his female staffers had been assaulted and paid less than men. You saw it in the Socialist Workers Party in the UK, when Comrade Delta was accused of rape. The Party's Disputes Committee prioritized party unity, leading to a mass exodus of members. You saw in it FLDS, where Jeffs dominated a town politically and socially, controlling all familial and sexual relations, abolishing private property and owning nearly all land in a trust, and creating a harem of underage girls. You see it in the O9A/764 Networks, where leaders promote revolution and compel members, typically underage or young women and sexual minorities, to commit crimes after extorting them with sexual blackmail material like self-produced child pornography. The truth is, when it comes to political movements and the abuse of women, they can operate so much like cults that they are functionally indistinguishable. The relationship between power and sexual violence is so pervasive and undeniable—it is rare to see a man who strongly desires absolute social or political power that will not soon turn his abusive gaze upon women's bodies and lives.
Dilan Esper@dilanesper

A lot of the movements of the early New Left treated women in their movements like sexual playthings rather than full partners. It took a long time for feminists to change this. Someone like Cesar Chavez was going to get away with whatever he wanted.

My own sense is that something weird is happening here: no evidence, no victims … just “shocking allegations.” Did some pink-haired fascist inside UFW just wake up to discover that Cesar hated illegal immigrants? Is this a shakedown by people hoping to leverage AB 218 (the suspension of statute of limitations of sex-assault claims)? Is this a case of Gen Z types running UFW? The possible hypotheses seem infinite. Something doesn’t add up.
