Nigeria: A young Christian in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, was arrested for protecting his community with a rudimentary firearm. Heavily armed Islamists, meanwhile, have repeatedly and recently attacked vulnerable Christian communities across Plateau State – including Barkin Ladi. The Islamists openly carry AK-47s, though they are never arrested or disarmed – only Christians are. The military has proven unable or unwilling to protect Christians. Christians must be allowed to defend themselves, and should be permitted to possess any firearms allowed to the Islamists. The Lord detests dishonest scales.

Because of this, parents started tattooing a small cross on their babies’ wrists, so that if they were ever kidnapped, they would never forget their Christian identity.
