@MasterMaliq @JohnCleese I don't really believe in "moderate" Muslims. If they exist, they have no political power in Islam. What examples exist of Muslims living peacefully in the West? Not anywhere in Europe. Where they gain population in the US, they try to take over and enforce Sharia (Texas).

Crazy how many non Muslims genuinely believe Muslims can never live peacefully with them. They see Muslims as a threat to their safety, their communities, even their existence. And honestly? Before Muslims get angry, ask yourself why that fear exists in the first place. When some Muslims openly justify violence, celebrate extremists, threaten critics, force religion on others, and then scream “this is Islam” … what exactly do you expect non Muslims to think? You can’t spend years allowing the loudest and most dangerous voices to represent Islam, then act shocked when the world becomes afraid of Muslims. The biggest damage to Islam today is not coming from outsiders. It’s coming from Muslims who turn the religion into a symbol of fear instead of peace.

@DanBurmawy This is roundly misrepresenting what happened. He's always said that, he didn't have some revelation. More so, Anglicanism is one of the most mild, secular flavors of Christianity ever. Douglas Murray has routinely made the same point.

Do you remember when Richard Dawkins, one of the most prominent atheists of our time, suddenly found himself defending Christianity. He called himself a “cultural Christian” and openly admitted that he didn’t want to see Britain, or the West, become Islamic. It was the realization that Western civilization was built on centuries of intellectual struggle, Greek philosophy, Roman law, the Judeo-Christian moral framework, the Reformation, the Enlightenment. The freedom to doubt. The freedom to speak. The right to question sacred ideas without fear of death. These aren’t just abstract values. They are the pillars that hold up everything from your freedom to publish a book to a woman’s right to walk down the street uncovered. Dawkins, despite his atheism, understood that Islam is a threat to that entire project. Because Islam doesn’t enter a culture to coexist. It enters to redefine it. It doesn’t see secular freedoms as neutral, it sees them as filth. And when the West, in its confusion and cowardice, opens the gates and says “All cultures are equal,” it invites a force that sees that very tolerance as weakness to be exploited. Dawkins saw it. Many are starting to see it, and the West must wake up, if not to defend Christianity as dogma, then to defend the civilization it birthed, before it’s erased under the banner of submission.

I have not seen anybody talking about what’s going on in Canada right now. This man was pulled over and told by police that he had to come with them because a psychiatrist labeled him “certifiable.” No paperwork, no rule of law, just a doctor saying that if he didn’t come with him right then and there that he would be arrested. The fact that a government could do this is terrifying.

Regular reminder that startups and VC culture are fake and stupid. Paul Graham is a smart guy, but all he ever did was make a stupid shopping cart that Yahoo subsequently sh*t-canned. Most unicorns are just fake money-changing games. Remember the WeWork fraud? That's a "unicorn".

@ReReadingWolfe There's a couple bangers in Dying Earth. Ulahn Dhor (#5) is exquisite and shows the influence. But Vance was also a pulp machine and wrote a lot of stuff he didn't like. Listened to a 1978 radio interview with him today. Frankly, sounds a lot like Wolfe. Very interesting guy.

@ReReadingWolfe Vance is delightful, smart and quite funny, but certainly a different genre from Wolfe. Here, I thought I'd be reading the progenitor. No sir. Not even a little. Entirely enjoyable, but completely different. Perhaps as expected. No one is like Wolfe.

@emanonedits @frankwrighter The simple truth is, Islamic societies don't produce anything. No science, no books, no great authors, no great directors. Newton, Dickens, Allan Moore, Knopfler, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, J.K Rowling, John Le Carre, Chaucer, TOLKIEN. Are we SURE we want to replace all that?? 👎

The right to criticise a religion is part of British culture Criticism of Islam is Islamoscepticism, not Islamophobia Phobias are irrational fears, like arachnophobia- the fear of spiders Or in the case of Islam, fear of dogs and pigs Calling scepticism (or criticism) a phobia is a misuse of the English language An infidel's fear of being beheaded is not irrational
Laurence Fox@LozzaFox

We need to remove meaningless words such as “Islamophobia” from our beautiful and ancient language. We need to be as rigorous in mocking the term as the midget dictator @SadiqKhan is about making sure no one can reply to his tweets.

@ThomasBush7096 @AndrewGold_ok Maybe my blind spot is that I share their interests. But I don't think Trump is secretly being extorted into supporting Israel. And that's the basic claim of the horseshoe far left right syndicate. Is Rubio compromised? Seems unlikely. I think he's just a rational actor. Like me.

@ElMorganovich @AndrewGold_ok Yeah I agree Qatar is also buying a lot of influence and radical Islam is a huge threat. Maybe we should all unite against the biggest threat but that doesn't change what seems to me to be the existence of a very effective Jewish lobby in the US.

Lot of people sharing this very smart and eloquent Restore voter. Makes many important points. Allow me to make an unpopular counterpoint to one of his - I really don’t care that my replies will be filled with Jooooo. He says our invasion of Middle Eastern countries is what mainly caused mass immigration. This is undoubtedly part of it. But still relied on our politicians letting countless people in. If it’s instability in the Middle East that did it - well, there’s plenty of that without our invasions. The stream of migrants is related to globalisation and a pathetic West. Immigrants from the Middle East and Africa (we didn’t invade Somalia) have moved not only to our shores but have spread throughout the world. Still, the same argument is often made by the Left regarding the British Empire. ‘We reap what we sow’. Well, not if we enforce borders. Not if we take some pride in ourselves. What we don’t get is a window into the world had we not had Empire or had we not engaged in those wars. Where would Saddam’s Iraq be now? Where would Iran’s nuclear program be without US pressure? His point about America being ruled by Israel is absurd - not just because of the (boring, boring, boring) unique demonisation of the one tiny Jewish state and attribution to it of powers never before seen by humans but because of the reduction of agency he attributes to the States - the most powerful global power in world history. He ignores the fact that Iran has regularly threatened to wipe out the US, the West and our way of living. That there is a Middle East packed with billions of people who are stuck in a Middle Age mindset but with modern technology that could end us. That’s just my opinion. He’s a smart and reasonable guy though and I hope he starts to get a proper following because we need more of that kind of discourse.
Nick Dixon@NickDixon

Feel like this guy has waited his whole life to say this. Incredibly eloquent and accurate appraisal of the failure of Western elites.

Let me get this straight, you want people who are on H-1B visas who are working and contributing to your economy (not to mention paying their taxes) to quit work and return back to their home countries for an unspecified period to apply for Green Card? Wonderful!
Homeland Security@DHSgov

An alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a Green Card must return to their home country to apply. This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes. The era of abusing our nation’s immigration system is over.

@avidseries @razibkhan This is final proof that I/O is, in fact, an Indian woman. Any investigation of the fake unicorn list reveals a red highway of slop and failure; the whole space of startups and unicorns is fraught with bullsh*t and money laundering. This POS is a lying fraud.
