Mehdi Taj — a former IRGC member and allegedly the former intelligence commander of the Isfahan branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — is confirmed to be en route to Canada with a visa issued and may arrive at any moment. He is entering Canada under the title of head of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. There are serious concerns, however, that his IRGC affiliations were not disclosed in the visa process. Members of a terrorist organization are inadmissible under s.34(1)(f) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Failure to disclose such affiliations constitutes misrepresentation under s.40 IRPA. His visa MUST BE CANCELLED immediately — and if too late, enforcement must occur at the port of entry. We call on the Canada Border Services Agency @CanBorder, the Minister of Public Safety (@gary_srp), the Minister of Immigration (@LenaMetlegeDiab), and the Minister of Foreign Affairs (@AnitaAnandMP) to take immediate action. @MarkJCarney

I don’t know how accurate the reporting is regarding Iran’s supposed new offer to end the war by lifting the blockade, opening the strait and dealing with the other issues later. But all I can say is I understand why Iran would make that offer. I am confident not only would that offer be unacceptable, but it also tells you all you need to know about the true state of play regarding negotiations. This is an offer that ignores the strong positions President Trump has rightfully taken regarding Iran’s nuclear operations and desire to be the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. To have a successful negotiation you have to have two willing partners. Clearly, if this offer is accurate, Iran is playing games. Ich hatte das Privileg, sie vor vielen Jahren im Begegnungscafe für Holocaust-Überlebende , wo ich ehrenamtlich tätig war, in Köln kennenzulernen. Mucki ( Gertrud) Koch wurde 1924 in Köln geboren. Sie war Mitglied der Edelweißpiraten, der Kosename „Mucki“ war ihr Deckname im Widerstand. Sie gehörte zu den bekanntesten Kölner Widerstandskämpferinnen gegen die Nazis. Gertrud „Mucki“ Koch war nicht nur „unangepasst“, sie war aktiv im Widerstand. Sie verteilte illegale Flugblätter gegen Hitler. Sie schrieb Parolen gegen die Nazis an Wände. Sie versteckte Verfolgte (z. B. Juden oder Zwangsarbeiter). Sie beschaffte Lebensmittel für Untergetauchte. Und das,obwohl sie mehrfach von der Gestapo verhaftet, verhört und geschlagen wurde. Ihr Vater wurde von den Nazis ins KZ gebracht und starb dort. Viele ihrer Freunde wurden verfolgt oder sogar öffentlich in Köln hingerichtet. Mucki war auch in hohem Alter hellwach, sie erzählte mir, dass sie über ihre Eltern, die politisch sehr interessiert waren, erfuhr, was mit den Juden geschah. Sie meinte, es stimmte nicht, dass die Bevölkerung nichts wusste, sie wollten nicht hingucken, nichts sehen. Mucki aber wollte nicht zu denen gehören, die einfach wegschauen, Mucki wollte handeln. Mucki Koch war schon in jungen Jahren eine Heldin. Ich weiß noch, welchen Respekt, welche Hochachtung ich in ihrer Gegenwart für sie empfand. Sie starb 2016 und doch wird sie vielen Menschen unvergessen bleiben. Heute leben wir im Zeitalter des Internets. Uns bleibt nichts verborgen, wir können später nicht sagen, wir hätten nichts gewusst. In diesen Tagen werden Frauen gefoltert, abgeschlachtet, weil sie ihre Haare nicht verhüllen wollen. Menschen werden ermordet, weil sie nur einen Wunsch äußern: In Freiheit leben zu wollen. Unsere westlichen Politiker wissen um die brutale Gewalt des Mullahregimes gegen die eigene Bevölkerung. Sogar Kinder sind vor ihnen nicht sicher. Trotzdem schauen sie weg, Benzin hat für sie einen höheren Wert als Menschenblut. Israel wird seit seiner Existenz von genau den Menschen, die als Islamisten kein Leben achten, in seiner Existenz bedroht. Islamisten , Proxies des #Iran wie #Hamas, #Hisbollah, #Houthis, sie alle wollen Juden morden, besessen in ihrem Hass. Kein Wunder also, dass Iraner und Israelis im Schmerz vereint sind und auch in dem unbedingten Willen, zu leben, sicher und in Frieden. Tapfer stehen sie einander bei, Israel riskiert das Leben seiner Kinder, um die Welt von den Barbaren zu befreien. Und doch ist es ein so beklemmendes Gefühl, dass sich in der westlichen Welt nur die USA und Israel aufmachen, das iranische Volk zu unterstützen. Das, was Mucki Koch als Jugendliche verstanden hat, versteht unser @bundeskanzler als Politiker mit Macht und Einfluss, nicht. Mucki Koch hatte mehr Eier, als der Mann, der unser Land regiert.
