$AMD | AMD Raises Outlook on AI Data Center Demand Surge Advanced Micro Devices Inc. forecast second-quarter sales of $11.2 billion, plus or minus $300 million, above the $10.5 billion estimate, driven by strong AI infrastructure demand. First-quarter revenue rose 38% to $10.3 billion, with adjusted earnings of $1.37 per share, both ahead of expectations. Data center sales climbed 57% to $5.8 billion, while PC revenue rose 23% to $3.6 billion. Shares gained in after-hours trading and are up 66% this year as AMD benefits from AI accelerator demand despite Nvidia Corp. competition and memory supply constraints. CEO Lisa Su said, “Looking ahead, we expect server growth to accelerate meaningfully as we scale supply to meet demand.”

$META can’t shake the capex bears. Growth of 33% was better than the whisper of 32%. Guided June to 28% vs. Street at 25%. Investors opted instead to focus on capex growth this year going to 93% growth compared to previous expectations of 73%. I see the concern overblown. Meta has shown they can meaningfully accelerate revenue from capex. March of 25 it was up 16%. This June it will grow 28% plus.

$META is down 6% because of the capex guide. Deja vu: We saw this when they reported Sep-25. Capex is expected to grow this year by 94%, vs. the Street was expecting 76%. My take: I continue to be surprised by investors negative capex reaction. We have enough datapoints from Meta that show these investments are paying off. Revenue in March grew at 33% yy, and they guided to 28% in June. That compares to March of 2025 up 16%.

Job market sentiment among US workers is collapsing: In Q4 2025, just 28% of US employees said it is a “good time” to find a quality job, the lowest in at least 4 years, according to the latest Gallup survey. This percentage has fallen -42 points since Q2 2022. College-educated workers were the most pessimistic, with only 19% of degree-holders saying it is a “good time” to find a quality job, down from 73% in Q2 2022. Workers without a college degree followed, at 35%, the lowest percentage in 4 years. Younger workers were the least confident, at 20%, compared with 41% of those aged 65 and over. Americans have rarely been this pessimistic about the job market.

BREAKING: Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi says Israel has struck "2 of Iran's largest steel factories, a power plant, and civilian nuclear sites in coordination with the US." The UK, the 2nd-largest holder, posted a +$29.3 billion increase, to $895.3 billion, the 3rd-highest on record. China's stockpile, the 3rd-largest holder, increased +$10.9 billion, to $694.4 billion, the highest since September. Meanwhile, European Union holdings rose +$8.0 billion, to $2.1 trillion. Foreigners now own more US debt than ever.
