We're sure you might have some questions about face coverings — including what kind you should wear, where to get one, and the differences between medical masks and non-medical face coverings. Find out more about the new face coverings directive. ➡️ publichealthinsider.com/2020/05/11/wha…

COVID-19 contact tracing scams are happening and it is important to be aware and protective of your personal information. Do not click links in unsolicited texts, and check out the @WADeptHealth COVID-19 info on their website to know what a legitimate contact tracer will ask.

If you need to take care for a spouse, parent or child with #coronavirus, you can qualify for paid family and medical leave benefits through esd.wa.gov. #waleg is one of the few states with a paid family and medical leave program. #WeGotThisWA #COVID-19

Under the statewide order, everyone must #StayHome except for essential activities until at least April 6. Essential activities include grocery shopping, medical appointments and essential work. If you must go out, stay at least 6 feet away from others at all times.

Stay home. Save lives. If your outing is essential, keep at least 6 feet of space between yourself and others, and avoid crowds. For now, social distancing is essential to protect ourselves and our community. @KCPubHealth is sharing ways to face the challenge.

Unemployment Insurance was created in the Great Depression not only to help workers but to stabilize the economy. It works. But with so many independent contractors now that don't qualify for UI, it need to be updated. New ideas welcome.

The U.S. should strongly consider this Danish model. With many businesses closing temporarily or facing a huge drop in business, the Danish government is paying employers 75% of workers' salaries as part of government-business-labor deal for companies not to lay off workers.

Councilmember @cmSatwinderKaur has called for a similar eviction moratorium in Kent, which I support. I’m also calling for a moratorium on utility shut-offs. Access to water is necessary to keep individuals and our community healthy as we work to slow the spread of #COVID19.

Thank you to all of the courageous doctors, nurses, first responders, cleaning staff, and so many others who find themselves on the frontlines of this public health emergency. We owe each of them a tremendous debt of gratitude.
