@JackPosobiec It's true! I get surprised every time I discuss divisive issues with old friends who are captured.

@APBear76 @Jax_4_Oregon @jerrod_heath My dad was always of the opinion mail-in was bad because social groups, e.g. churches, could pressure their members to all vote together under scrutiny.

Another ‘conspiracy theory’ being proven true The state of Washington is suing grocery store chain Albertsons What they found was when they would do a ‘Buy 1 get 1 free sale,’ they would first mark up the price to offset the sale As soon as the sale ended, they would re-lower the prices Everything is now a scam “The state says the stores brought in as much as $19 million through those disputed transactions”

@WallStreetApes Also, the quality of those chain restaurants has been plummeting. I always try to find a local cafe or restaurant, better AND cheaper than the chains. That's why the chains have started advertising heavily on highway billboards: remind people that's what they're supposed to like.

“America has become a soulless nation” Even in the country, you see the same corporate slop Every town in America now has the same fast food restaurants, the same chain restaurants, the same hotels. Different area, same everything “If y'all needed any more reasoning as to why I'm leaving the country, take a look at this absolute abomination of city planning. Unfortunately, this is how most of America looks outside of big cities. This is not a country anymore, but a functional economic zone that you are meant to contribute to until your life ends. And maybe if you're lucky, every year or two, you can take a vacation to actually live for once somewhere else in the world” The irony, they’re really essentially all one big company under different names As of recent data, chain restaurants make up roughly 40% of U.S. restaurants nationally. That number jumps to over 60% in some towns I personally find it very annoying to travel to different parts of America and see the same restaurants, the same stores in the mall, the same everything. It makes travel feel pointless

Question for women: what do you hate most about men, and what's the worst example of typically male behavior you can remember? Non-criminal division. Asking unironically.

@GainesBets91772 @mtaibbi I believe this is just a hardwired trait, which can be taken for good or ill. We really do just want to help, and when presented with a perceived problem, we feel we are being asked to fix it. The men who choose or were trained to shrug that are less helpful.

@mtaibbi 40+ year marriage: Men expect to FIX things. I appreciate this in a mechanic, not so much when I just want to talk to my husband. A corollary: "It's not always about you." Men assume a woman's anger is AT them & exacerbate, tune out or get defensive. Just hold the bucket.

@mtaibbi I am a female plumber. I work in the trades with almost all men. I am weary. I hate: the territorial aggression, the comfort with violence, immoral sexuality, competitiveness instead of collaboration, always sizing each other up as to who is strongest or fastest or the best.

I'm so angry about this completely idiotic Politico poll, which still showed massive vaccine skepticism. Look at this stupid question: “Which of the following comes closest to your view? 1) Americans have a duty to be vaccinated to protect other Americans, 2) Americans are responsible only for themselves, and have no duty to be vaccinated to protect others.” The results were 52 percent for 1 and 35 percent for 2. But, honestly, look at this language! Do you have a duty to protect people or are you only out for yourself? Plus your decision to be out for yourself fails to “protect others.” It's amazing that anyone at all picked #2. Truly, what the heck kind of poll is this? I will tell you: it’s a poll constructed to support the vaccination industry and those who live off it. politico.com/news/2026/04/1…

Good morning, X Patriots. Does anyone have a great movie or tv series that you can recommend that would be appropriate for a 12 year old boy? He's very into tech, but likes all genres. No animated stuff please unless you think it's 5⭐ quality and not to be missed. Old stuff is great; new stuff I'm not sure about... So much of it is garbage imo, but I'm willing to hear your opinions. Thank you!

Lost in Space (Netflix) 2018. I watched it with my 12yo (at the time) daughter and we loved it. Not one single weird thing, not one single 'surprise'...lovely family drama. Nothing out of bounds as far as language or themes (zero sexuality except girls and boys liking each other sometimes). Great performances. They really did well by the original series. Beautiful relationships. It's my #1 recommendation for questions like this. It was so 'innocent' I wondered at the time how it even got made. highly highly recommend.

KO’D BY A SINGLE OPEN HANDED SLAP: 🔥 Is one clean open-hand slap from an older man the most BASED way to end a loudmouth punk… or straight-up assault that deserves cuffs? 👊 Grandpa Just Sent This Bar Clown Straight to Dreamland in 0.0001 Seconds 😂💥 Dude’s in the restaurant/bar screaming “y’all ain’t gonna do SH*T to me!” to two guys…
Next frame? Older legend stands up, delivers ONE nuclear open-handed slap…
BOOM ….belligerent clown hits the floor KO’d cold. Lights out. Situation OVER. No cops, no 10-man brawl, just instant justice. Restaurant/bar partons instantly cheer. Real talk: respect restored in under a second or are we raising a generation of softies who need security for every argument? Team Slap or Team “Call the Manager”? 👇

@eveforamerica A few, I've reconnected with them while dropping the people I got to know in the last 20 years. While I have differences of opinion with all of them, I have more of a connection and history with the earlier people, and they are more willing to discuss abrasive topics.

This is a general question. Not trying to correlate this to anything in the news today. For those of you that are 50ish or older…how many acquaintances/colleagues/associates etc., that you met in your younger years, do you know intimately TODAY? I am using “intimate” in the broadest sense. For example…what they do privately, what are their morals, their ethics…an so on. Me…ZERO.

Younger American says the Boomer Generation doesn’t understand what’s going on in America, and was misled “Boomers are the only generation who has had more than what their parents had and more than what their children had. They've had more than any other generation in history, and they were told, and wrongly so, that this was because of their own merit. And because this belief in meritocracy runs deep with them, they actually think that it's our fault that the world is the way that it is. It's really not fair for us to be constantly gaslit by these people who had so much privilege and could buy a house on $16 an hour, or the equivalent they could buy a house for double minimum wage. I'm making double minimum wage right now, and I can't afford to move outta my parents' house” She then explains how the Boomer Generation is hoarding the wealth with no plans to ever let it go, even in passing
