إن محاولات التشكيك في وطنية الأستاذة جميلة علي رجاء، وهي نائبة في هيئة التشاور والمصالحة المساندة لمجلس القيادة الرئاسي، بما تمثله من شرعية وطنية، يُعد طرحاً مجحفاً ومضللًا، يقوم على اجتزاء مواقف من سياقها واستخدامها بشكل انتقائي بهدف التأثير على مسار ترشيحها. حيث تستخدم تصريحات سابقة لها خارج سياقها، تندرج ضمن حملة ممنهجة للتشويه المتعمد. يتم فيها توظيف مواقف سياسية في غير سياقها الزمني أو الموضوعي، وتقديمها بشكل انتقائي بهدف التأثير على الرأي العام أو تقويض فرص الترشيح، وهو تضليل ممنهج يفتقر إلى المهنية ويضر بمسار العمل العام. الاختلاف في الرأي السياسي حق مشروع، والنقد البناء والمسؤول مقبول، لكن تحريف المواقف أو تأويلها بشكل مجحف لتبرير اتهامات تمس السمعة أو الوطنية يخرج عن إطار حرية التعبير، ويندرج ضمن أفعال يعاقب عليها القانون. وعليه تظل خيارات اتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة بحق كل من يثبت تورطه في أي حملات تشهير أو إساءة، وفقًا للقوانين النافذة، هي خيارات واردة ومجازة. وهذه الأساليب المفضوحة من محاولات الإقصاء عبر التشويه لن تنال من كفاءة القيادات الوطنية المشهود لها، ولن تثني عن دعم مسارات تعزز حضور الكفاءات في مواقع المسؤولية.

Part of #Iran’s attacks in the first 16 hours: 🇦🇪 #UAE: 137 missiles & 209 drones 🇶🇦 #Qatar: 60 missiles & 12 drones 🇧🇭 #Bahrain: 45 missiles & 9 drones Most were reportedly intercepted; the remainder caused varying levels of material damage, disruptions & limited causalities.

According to an analysis by @DimAmpatzidis at @Kpler, vessel traffic in the Persian Gulf is down 70%. This is bad for Gulf oil exports, but that’s not the most important economic impact. What matters more is food imports and food security. The Qatar blockade of 2017 and the 2020 pandemic exposed that Gulf economies are dependent on long and complex food supply chains. All GCC countries have built up strategic reserves of staple grains in recent years. But just a few days of major disruptions to flights and maritime trade will impact availability of certain food products. Ironically, after the pandemic the UAE sought to shorten key supply chains for imports of fruits and vegetables—they began sourcing more from Iran, as @MatthieuFavas has reported. This trade is done with smaller vessels and could be easier to sustain, but it also gives Iran additional leverage over the UAE. A protracted war means no flights, no tourists… and no tomatoes.

The escalation in the Middle East underlines the need for a unified European approach grounded in law and shared principles. My statement:

There is no indication of new Houthi military action, suggesting the leadership recognizes that overt escalation would likely place the movement next in line for retaliation. This may change, of course. But this is how things stand today. (3) #Houthis
