Yesterday marked one year since Cornell hosted an NCAA women’s hockey regional final. The 3,135 members of the Lynah Faithful in attendance not only set a Cornell attendance record, but were so loud players couldn’t hear their coaches during TV timeouts.

Jason Elliott is the only one of the six who won those two games across multiple seasons: the 1996 #ECACHockey Championship Game and Game 2 of the 1997 quarterfinal (which followed the Game 1 tie mentioned earlier in Eli's thread).

Fun facts about Cornell's 5-2 win over Harvard: - This was the first winner-take-all game three between Cornell and Harvard in the rivalries postseason history. The previous six best-of-three series all either ended in sweeps or (in 1997) a tie and a win. 1/4

Last season Cornell's men's and women's hockey teams played four win-or-go-home games at Lynah Rink. This season that number is one. Cornell vs Harvard. A trip to Lake Placid. One last game at Lynah.

This also marks just the second time Cornell has shutout Harvard in the postseason. Also, as I’ve mentioned a few times this weekend, Cournoyer is the first Cornell freshman to start in net against Harvard in the playoffs.

Lynah is LOUD so far tonight. I'm wondering if it has something to do with Cornell students celebrating St. Patrick's Day earlier today.... Last year's NCAA women's regional final (which also coincided with St. Patrick's Day) was one of the loudest games I've attended at Lynah.
