You can acknowledge the foul on David Raya while also admitting that Arsenal have been doing this to goalkeepers routinely all season long. This has been an ongoing narrative, which now will be remembered as a part of the story of the season. No room for context or nuance though.

That was a foul on David Raya. The irony is Arsenal have rugby scrummed GKs all season. The irony is City complaining about being cheated out of a title. Meanwhile, it is all beside the main point here.

Why is Declan Rice blatantly dragging/wrestling Mavrapanos into the goalmouth not a foul, but an arm across the front of Raya is? Ridiculous decision that has a major impact at both ends of the Premier League.

As many Manchester United fans have pointed out, Arsenal won at Old Trafford with a goal from a corner that wasn’t disallowed after a review and a dozen replays. And then there’s the foul from Rice that arguably started before the arm on Raya. This impacts not only the title but potentially a relegation costing north of £100m. Zero consistency, zero need.
