I think John and Thady are just stepping up his work now and hopefully Colin [Keane] will be having a sit on him in the next week. "We were tempted to run him again after Haydock but the trainers rightly said he’s a big horse who had a lot of frame to fill. The ground went quick and we thought that a big horse on fast ground and on the undulations wasn’t the thing to do. Hopefully they will be rewarded for that.”

NAP OF THE DAY – THE NEW LION 5/2 7 star nap ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Champion Hurdle – Cheltenham I’ve been looking forward to Cheltenham starting and for me The New Lion is the one I really want to be with in the Champion Hurdle. I just like the way he goes about it. He’s got class, he travels well and he looks the type for a big day like this. Cheltenham on Day One is never easy, you need a horse with plenty about him, and I honestly think this one could be up to the job. He looks to me like he’s still improving and if he handles the occasion like I think he will, I can see him running a massive race. There are always dangers in races like this, there always are, but I keep coming back to The New Lion. He’s the one I’d want my money on and the one I think can get the Festival off to a perfect star
