Former USF assistant Rod Strickland, and former USF staffer-now LIU AD @EliteCE0, get the Sharks back to the NCAA's for the first time since 2018. With the way they closed the season, hopefully can go right to the main draw and avoid First Four in Dayton.

After winning just 3 games his first season, Rod Strickland has taken LIU to the NCAA tourney. Strickland has paid his dues in coaching. The former NBA player started his career as the Director of Basketball Operations at Memphis, was on staff at Kentucky and an assistant at South Florida. The Sharks are going dancing for the first time since Derek Kellogg’s first season in 2017-18.

THE LONG ISLAND SHARKS ARE GOING TO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2018 🦈🎟️ LIU advanced to the NEC title game, but its opponent, Merchyhurst, is still in the Division I transition period. Meaning the Sharks have already clinched an NCAAT bid.

LIU becomes the first team to punch its ticket to the NCAA Tournament! The Sharks have defeated Wagner 64-56 and will represent the NEC because their opponent in the NEC Championship Game, Mercyhurst, is still ineligible to participate in the NCAAs.
