@devahaz @sporadica Agree. $500K (for mid-level FAANG) can't help with a $4-5M home. 500K pretax Tax: 230K Rent: 60-70K (hcol) Living (not luxurious): 50-100K Savings: maybe 100-150K Takes years to collect 1-1.5M down pmt on 4M home. And high mortgage at 6.5% is a bitch.
