We see participants on our lifestyle courses who need to reduce their blood pressure medication as they make lifestyle changes that lead to reduced insulin and reduced insulin resistance. Medication reviews are a really good idea during the transitional phase
Benjamin Bikman@BenBikmanPhD

If you have high blood pressure, it’s very likely insulin resistance is the primary driver. Via at least four distinct mechanisms, insulin resistance disrupts normal blood vessel function and hemodynamics. This is why resolving insulin resistance enables so many people to reduce or eliminate blood pressure medications.

There is remarkably little sugar in your blood ONLY ONE TEASPOON of glucose in your entire bloodstream!! This is why small amounts of carbohydrates put blood sugar up so much if you have T2 Diabetes where insulin is not working properly @CampbellMurdoch I think you gave me this slide 🙏

Gregory Mays, MD | Insulin Resistance Physician
Many people think diabetes begins when glucose rises. In reality, insulin resistance often develops years earlier. By the time fasting glucose climbs, the pancreas may have been working overtime for years. Glucose is often the late signal — not the beginning of the problem.

Jen on stage now The best strategy for people with addiction is abstinence This is difficult in the case of food addiction. In this case it’s necessary to focus on the specific foods that are problematic and abstain from them @drjenunwin @FAS_TheCHC @drchatterjeeuk @ChrisPalmerMD

This isn’t just another health event. It’s a wake-up call. If you’ve ever felt something isn’t quite right with our healthcare system, you’re not imagining it. Too often, we focus on managing illness instead of preventing it. But it doesn’t have to stay this way. Whether you’re a doctor or someone ready to take ownership of your health, change starts with knowledge. Knowledge that helps you make better decisions. Knowledge that helps us build a system that supports health, not just treats disease.

Big thank you to Daisy’s cafe in Ambleside. I explained that my T2 Diabetes means I avoid foods that put up blood sugar and without a murmur they produce this 🤩😋 @DiabetesUK

How can doctors, psychiatrists, and other health practitioners implement keto for serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression? In this short interview, @bschermd sits down with Dr. Georgia Ede to discuss a newly published Delphi consensus paper in Frontiers in Nutrition, authored by eight experienced clinicians and researchers to establish best practices for the use of ketogenic metabolic therapy (KMT) in serious mental illnesses. 📚 Read the Paper: Published in Frontiers in Nutrition: doi.org/10.3389/fnut.2… Special shoutout to the 8 authors of this paper which include: @georgiaedemd, Dr. Matthew Bernstein, @loricalabresemd, @iaincampbellphd, @ketocounselor, @chrispalmermd, @shebanimd, and @kaniazupec

Lets hope mainstream media pick this up. Perhaps a momentous change in public health if people select foods based on nutritional value, not addictiveness, cheapness, or profitability for seller. Moreso even than the new US Dietary Guidelines that mainstream have mostly overlooked
Ty Beal@TyBealPhD

I can't believe it took 2.5 years...but my paper on a new system for rating foods by nutritional value was finally accepted for publication! Nutrient-dense foods like fish, meat, and non-starchy vegetables top the list.

SGLTi drugs definitely help you wee out sugar Perhaps it’s sugar you would have been better off not eating in the first place? The effects of this medication are similar to going on a low carb diet We published on this here pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC83…
NICE@NICEComms

📢Big shift in type 2 diabetes care NICE now recommends SGLT2 inhibitors first-line for cardio-renal protection from day one. Evidence suggests 17,000 deaths could be prevented over 3 years, along with £560m in cost savings for the NHS: nice.org.uk/news/articles/…

Two years ago today, 86 people said yes to a complete stranger. They trusted me to guide them into food addiction recovery, with the understanding that their collective journey and results would be shared to help strengthen the evidence for this work. At the time, Liberate was just a dream. It only became real because 86 courageous people took a brave step into the unknown. The Liberate Originals will always hold a special place in my heart. And they should feel incredibly proud of themselves, because without them, Liberate would not have gone on to support over 200 people so far. Today, I want to honour them through my gratitude I'm grateful for their courage. I'm grateful for their honesty. I'm grateful for the way they stayed when it felt hard. I'm grateful for the tears and laughter we've shared. I'm grateful you're all part of my recovery too. I'm grateful for helping build something that is now offering hope to so many others. One day at a time. And I am very grateful you are here. Ellen (@EllenCalteau)
