We currently have several fire engines, two argocat vehicles and a rural unimog at a wildfire near to Ladybower Reservoir. South Yorkshire fire crews initially responded after a 999 call @ 08:58am but have handed over. Please avoid the area. No further information is available.

We were recently given the very sad news that the @horsetrust had said goodbye to our beloved retired Trojan due ongoing health issues 😢 He was a much loved character for those who had the pleasure of working with him & became a firm favourite in his retirement too ☺️

@ElizabethPyne1 Hello, the A52 is currently closed between QMC and Priory Island in the westbound direction as a full weekend closure. The eastbound, so from Priory island to QMC is still open.

By doing this, she can go into retirement & enjoy the sun on her face without any irritation from her bad eye, or have to wear any sunglasses or mask, she can simply relax & enjoy herself ☺️ We will keep you posted as & when she makes her way to the horses trust 🐴

Women are increasingly taking on roles traditionally dominated by men at East Midlands Airport, with more than a third of Airfield Operations positions now held by women. It’s a big change since Lauren Turner (pictured left) – promoted last year as the airport’s Operations Director – first started working in Airfield Operations as the only female on the team. As International Women’s Day is marked on Sunday 8 March, she is proud that out of a team of 39, 15 are now women – five of them in management roles. Among them are Nic Dowson (pictured centre) and Leanne Skinner (pictured right), both Airfield Operations Duty Managers overseeing the day-to-day safe running of the airport. They are in charge of the team on shift carrying out crucial duties such as regular patrols and inspections, aircraft marshalling, providing weather updates, and clearing debris, snow and birds from the runway, taxiways and aprons. An update on UK operations in the Middle East.

As the situation in the Middle East remains volatile, we are deploying our Type-45 Destroyer, HMS Dragon, to the Eastern Mediterranean. We are also sending two Wildcat helicopters to Cyprus to bolster drone defence for our Cypriot partners.
