@ExpectedBham This summer needs to be all about recruiting Champ ready players & he should be a top target.
English

@Ell1875 If you're looking for a pure 6. Someone who can sit and do the dirty work and decent enough on the ball, he's as good as anyone imo.
Busio offers a bit more of a rounded game, but untested in Champ.

Doyle goes. Solís uncertain. Leonard away. Kanya unused.
#BCFC midfield could look very different next season — with or without CD.
The engine room needs rebuilding. Hopefully the planning has already started. 👀
English

@ExpectedBham It was apparent early on we were crying out for a midfield 3 but for some reason CD didn’t rate Leonard. Hopefully he departs soon & we get to see Leonard back in the side next season.
English

Going back to this. I think a midfield 3 of Leonard (now Solis) holding and Doyle + Paik advancing/box-to-box would have been pretty good.
It would have meant dropping one of Stanno/Ducksch though.

At Birmingham, Davies played a double pivot. Doyle's partner for much of the season? Paik. Two attacking midfielders. No screener. No back three. Nobody to cover the space Doyle vacated going forward. So he stopped going forward.
English

Next window — don't just buy the player. Understand the system that makes him work.
The conditions that made him good are right there in the data.
Hopefully Birmingham learn from this one.

Tommy Doyle is returning to Wolves. A loan that didn't deliver.
But the data tells a different story to "disappointing season."
Doyle didn't have a bad season. He had a season in the wrong role. There's a difference — and it matters. 🧵

Birmingham City expect Tommy Doyle to return to Wolves in the summer. Doyle has only started 18 league games this season with Paik, Solis and Iwata all preferred in recent weeks. Every chance he's playing against Blues in the Championship next season. birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football…

@PanjabiBlues Next manager will be a tried & tested manager at this level. It can’t be another inexperienced manager!
English

@EdTCreative @HermanaSleven @HLTCO @PeterCrouchPod This is exactly why the Prem is a dreadful watch. A soulless tourist infested league half full of bang average no mark clubs living off multi million pound sky deals.
English

@HermanaSleven @HLTCO @PeterCrouchPod The game started on proximity, sure. But todays PL is built on global TV billions, foreign owners, foreign players, foreign bosses. If proximity still ruled, clubs wouldn't chase global markets or tour the world. Fandom's now chosen, not just inherited. Their's is just as real

@robplaister It’s this thinking that will see us in the Championship for another 12yrs.
English

@DaveBCFCKRO Moved on to what. The kid is head & shoulders above anything we have in midfield. It’s the main position we need to strengthen in the summer along with the goalkeeper.
English

@LeeAHinton95 CD is the assistant. We need an experienced manager now.
English

Still very much in the Davies in camp. If you’d have offered me top ten at the start of this season I’d have taken it.
I do think we need to adapt more though. 4-2-3-1 week in week out and it’s very predictable. We need a more experienced assistant to support imo. #bcfc

@OT970227 @danniwaring @miles_qpr Our squad & manager is better than yours. Varane is better than your whole midfield
English

Ran around a bit second half which made a difference when we realised Birmingham weren’t any good but damage done first half and overall nowhere near good enough again, the annual attempt to get into a relegation battle now in full swing #QPR
English

@OscarQPR1 If we were abysmal what does that make you?! Cry some more 😂
English

To be fair they was quality tonight weren’t they
Liam Pearce@InsightPearce
@miles_qpr Fuming mate just signing, Gray, Kyogo and Tommy Doyle instead.
