On Monday evening, Karl Darlow became only the second Premier League keeper this season to be penalised for holding onto the ball for more than the permitted eight seconds. The rule, which mandates that goalkeepers must release the ball within eight seconds of gaining possession, was famously enforced on the opening day of the season during Tottenham's match against Burnley, when Martin Dúbravka was similarly punished, with a corner being awarded to the opposition. However, it has not been enforced since, leading to confusion and anger from the Leeds players, and the bench.

Southampton captain Taylor Harwood-Bellis appeared to mock a Middlesbrough player with a binoculars celebration amid allegations that Saints were spying on Boro training before their play-off clash 😬

@GrahamBradbury3 @lucyjward_ Yet later in the same game when JJ got sent flying by Brennan Johnson he sprung back to his feet like a jack in a box so BJ wasn't sent off

Leeds got a fine for ‘spying’. Southampton should get a fine for ‘spying’…?

@GrahamBradbury3 @lucyjward_ Palace were the worst this season, exaggerating a soft kick kick to get GG sent off, and openly celebrating like they'd won the Cup when he received his marching orders

@EllandBack1 @lucyjward_ It’s endemic but it all comes down to to TV, commercialisation and greed. As #LUFC fans we know all about cheating. It’s not new but on a lower level it’s part of every game. That why Arsenal are so unpopular.
