Had to make c/o cues for every reel because the OG cues and scribed cues were less than 5 frames from the tail 😭 plus some reels had random SMPTE heads, had to label all the heads

During the first airing of my Star Trek series where a kiss was objectionable; many southern stations pulled the episode & condemned the show. Using today’s vernacular it would absolutely be called“woke DEI crap”because it went against “norms” of society for its time. Not a lot seems to have changed.🤷🏼😑

Always the gentleman! It's a shame that this Star Trek project has managed to generate so much negativity from some who can't accept that it won't always fit their vision and so it should be put out of their misery .

Star Trek exists in more than one world. It exists in the fantasy of science fiction - weird and wonderful things that play unimaginable possibilities of exploration and human endeavor. But it also exists in the fantasy of human beings, the perfection of human beings, the exploration that human beings have made since the dawn of time and the continuing exploration - physically mentally and morally. It’s that aspect of Star Trek that I’ve always loved, to look at something physically that doesn’t exist now by these talented writers & designers but also to tackle the eternal human questions the agonies, the ecstasies. Star Trek should exist for a long time to come based on those truths. I for one would love to see its continuity. It’s with sorrow that I hear about the cancellation of the new Star Trek series.

@PulpLibrarian Here's another movie featuring a middle-aged cast trying to be hip/groovy.
It's an acquired taste, shall we say and more "linear" than Skidoo but at least it's got Julie Newmar to look at.....

Skidoo (1968). This one is hard to describe. Otto Preminger tries to do a kind of free association counterculture comedy of gangsters vs hippies, but he also wants it to be meta.
The story is irrelevant. You're watching people pretending to be on LSD doing slapstick while saying the young are groovy, but also hinting the whole scene is fake, but then everything's fake, but maybe that's the point. Or maybe it isn't.
Anyway, Groucho Marx is in it, along with three Batman villains and Jackie Gleason. Harry Nilsson sings a lot. You half expect Peter Sellars or David Niven to appear wearing beads and quoting Marshall McLuhan, but instead you get Mickey Rooney and Frankie Avalon and it all ends up on John Wayne's yacht and then Groucho smokes a joint and then there's an epilogue...
You should watch it once.

@RebecTV Changing canon is like throwing away the rule book and therefore dissipates any future tension or drama if things can be "adjusted" to suit a plotline. It's simply cheating and patronising to viewers.

Ok I think I've put my finger on one of my biggest pet peeves. When writers feel the need to drastically change canon for no good reason.
2005 Who had the Time War and Time Lords gone but that was a fresh start, a new page.
