DC residents paid for this study with their tax dollars. District law required it to be released years ago. It never should have been withheld from the public. As Mayor, I will be transparent with DC residents — even when I disagree with a policy.

Twelve states, including Alabama and Maine, have passed tax laws similar to DC’s. Congress is considering whether to take money out of the pockets of working families in the District. Members must vote NO.

The House votes tomorrow on overturning our local tax law. This means:  1. Reversing a tax break for working families  2. Wreaking havoc in the middle of tax filing season 3. Destabilizing DC’s economy by clawing back $600 million 4. Undermining local autonomy
