Why would a pope visit a mosque?

Yes. Most Catholics are raised from birth in our faith, Catholic baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation. Catholic schools you pray daily and attend Church weekly with the school(usually next to the school) and prays before meals and bedtime and Church on Saturday for confessions and Mass on Sunday. We were taught Priests and the Pope were holy and perfect. In the 1980’s, 90’s, 2002 & 2010 sexual abuse arose as a global scandal some dating back to the 1950’s.. it was horrific and burst the bubble that they were perfect as we were taught. The Vatican and at least four Pope’s cover it up, they shipped them pedophiles around to abuse more children and the nuns were just as bad. Jesus never taught us to worship a Pope as a leader of the Catholic religion, they elect themselves, it’s evil what they have done and they will answer to god for hurting his children. Faith does not represent these people they are completely detached from their congregation and Christian being persecuted.. the silence if deafening. if you love God and Jesus in your heart that’s all that matters.

Question for Catholics: Can one be a Catholic and not like the Pope and disagree with his statements and views on religion and or politics? If so, why? If not, why? I have seen tons of Catholics taking both sides on this. I am genuinely curious.
