@OnlineBookClub Faithless, hopeless, disembodied, dissociated, depersonalized, derealized, and we come back to the foundational premise first noted by Freud, and held firmly by the psychoanalysts ever since. Namely, that no one is mentally well.

@OnlineBookClub We (mistakenly, but necessarily) believe that they, somehow, have some measure of control over the Leviathan. We otherwise stand helpless before the abyss of the cyberverse, cast forth into Cyberia, adrift within the maelstrom of the id.

@OnlineBookClub Now, at a time when technology has rocketed past humanity’s neurologic ability to comprehend it, we have in fact notably re-gressed. We stand in awe before our Silicon Valley masters and mistresses.

@OnlineBookClub Pass it along, and keep on passing it. There is no other book out there right now as comprehensive as this on digital mental health. Look for the companion piece as well, Reconceptualizing Mental Illness in the Viral Age, also through OBC.

@OnlineBookClub @CamScholars Thank you, OBC! The book is free today, so no reason not to buy it. These are the most pressing mental health issues right now, and anyone with an interest in wellness and good health will hopefully find it worthwhile.

@TwBookClub We need a thorough reassessment of how we diagnose and consider mental illness. This is a first step at a more comprehensive take

@TwBookClub This is an interesting topic at this time. It challenges what I know about psychiatry and the causes of mental illness. All of a sudden, I can't help but suspect those in the fields of psychiatry and psychology. Congrats on BOTD. Insightful review.

@TwBookClub I applaud that someone is finally talking about how the deification of medicine and psychiatry has led us to blindly believe facts that could be harmful to our own well-being and the immense role social media plays in this. Congratulations!

@AlidaSpies @TwBookClub You just have to go to a hospital to experience a suicide risk assessment. But be careful how you answer

@TwBookClub I agree with the author that modern culture is plagued by data-driven moral absolutism, powered by algorithms and social media. Ethics and truth don't have the same influence on moral values anymore. I'm keen to learn more about suicide risk assessments conducted in hospitals.

@TwBookClub I cannot stress enough how much we need a new model to try to account for today's techno-pathologies.

@TwBookClub This really is a necessary project. Techno-psychopathologies are now all around us. They comprise in fact the neuro-exhausting matrix crushing our mental well-being. The question, of course, is what can we do about it?

@TwBookClub This is the first book to address techno-psychopathology. We need to catch up with mental illness at this point.
