@Louis_Beneventi Fair comment. I remember when we signed Anelka from Bolton (similar position-wise in the league to Brentford). Signing players in hot form for smaller teams can work out. Signing potential doesn’t always work, we need to win. If the economics are good sign him.

@TalkCPFC @georgebelsham20 Not sure they’ve played Madrid in that time though.

🎙️ "If he retires tomorrow, he's already the best. He doesn't just dominate leagues, he changes football in that country!"
🤔 Is Pep or Fergie the greatest football manager of all time?

@ScottyHayter Didn’t even watch today. Numb to it now, same old shit, different manager.
English

@JodyMorris Fucking joke mate, ruining every weekend at the moment!
English

@ScottyHayter I’ve defended him at times but that keeper needs to go. You can’t defend that decision making today. He was going out wide, he didn’t need to come out.
English

@Tgarratt10 Not better at anticipation or in the air. VVD and Rio are pace merchants.
English

Great argument til your last line. I personally think it’s silly to bring up team awards when comparing individual players (when both players have won it all)
I’d argue Terry doesn’t have a single attribute better than VVD besides maybe bravery.
I’d also say the way modern day defenders are asked to defend is way harder than a structured back 4 like the brilliant Chelsea 04/05 team.
I think they’re all great but just using my eyes I think Van Dijk is the best quite comfortably.
CarefreeFC@RhysCarefree
Terry, 5 premier leagues, most goals by and PL defender, most clean sheets by any defender, goals conceded record in 04/05 (he was only on the pitch for 13 of the 15 conceded), played against elite number 9’s, won it all, the best leader of those. So it’s not really even a tough choice
English

@ThatRexGuy Level of defenders during Salah’s time inferior. Salah up there but not the GOAT. His longevity is something to behold, though.
English

@LickshotLippy Just guilt tripping him to stay. He is easily a Liverpool legend.
English

@lucamortellaro1 I don’t know what he sees in that keeper. It’s knit picking but it’s the only area I have questions for Enzo!
English

@Elliott__1995 Honestly mate…when they both have the ball at the feet it’s alarm bells everytime.
English

@nb1928 Agree regarding discipline, although Caicedo should’ve been off!
English

@EPLBible Should have been red carded. Very bad decision from VAR and I’m a Chelsea fan!
English

No yellow card for Caicedo…
VAR was perfectly fine with the challenge. 🫣 x.com/p6mNABCkyf2252…

I can’t believe people think Harry Kane is a better no.9.
Prime Shearer was incredible.
Have we produced a better 9?

Alan Shearer was a brilliant striker! 9⃣
