@EllisVirgini @anttsinc Wow. Reason number 6,382 why never move into an HOA community.
English

The HOA said they had an assessment fee of $20,000 per house!
They offered to let them pay it off in 10 years!
They refused topay it
Now all of the homes are being foreclosed on!
Turns out the HOA took in advance of $ 300,000 in cash upfront that needs to be paid back to the construction company!
If you divide the $300,000 into all the homes it’s about a $20,000 per Home fee!
English

@greeen2me Yes! If I wake up feeling like it's the first day of summer vacation in grade school, I know I'm in big trouble in a couple of hours.
English

@kaelakovalskia A lot of negative and "well, actually, bc sCiEnCe" comments here but we obvs have the technology to do these, the first one is esp practical (and we have a similar model for this, scuba masks) and they open up some cool fashion options, these are good ideas!
English

why eyeglasses need to have 2 glasses in front of the eyes? why not just a glass covering the whole face or one for two eyes? 🤔

@EllisVirgini @seongweed @grungepup98 Bro is mad that people who work in emergency medicine aren’t just taking the word of some rando on Twitter with no emergency medical experience 😂😂
English

AS A PARAMEDIC I ENDORSE THIS MESSAGE
WE DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU TOOK, WE DO NOT REPORT DRUG USE, WE JUST DONT WANT TO KILL YOU WHEN WE GIVE YOU MEDICATION
lexapro@lexapro_mg
@neocollector TELL PARAMEDICS EVERYTHING AND TELL THE COPS NOTHING 🗣️
English

@MagicNinja2001 @seongweed @grungepup98 This is the exact attitude that I would expect from a nurse who thinks she's a cop. Utterly unprofessional, permanently a teenage mean girl. You don't know anything about my professional qualifications, not even what field they might be in.
English

@MagicNinja2001 @seongweed @grungepup98 How many of your family members have died in this exact scenario?
English

@EllisVirgini @seongweed @grungepup98 We do ask around, we literally work in the field. You are hardcore backseat driving. How long have you worked in emergency medicine?
English

@seongweed @grungepup98 I appreciate that you yourself may be a highly responsible and ethical practitioner and I thank you for that. But I am telling you, that is not the norm in the US. If you really don't believe me, ask around.
English

it is used as a term for when a patient’s psychosis is so extreme that it is now causing them respiratory distress, rhabdomyolysis, etc among many other potential issues. when it gets to this point, paramedics can and will use ketamine + lorazepam to sedate that person to prevent them from injuring and potentially killing themselves. this is spelled out in my service’s protocols, i don’t know what else to tell you
English

@MansplainStuff @grungepup98 In fact, the instruction is often given to cover an inappropriate or excessive use of a taser.
English

@grungepup98 @EllisVirgini Cuz ultimately, the cop wont be held responsible for what you administer.
English

@seongweed @grungepup98 What clears it up for me is that no reputable medical authority or organization recognizes this condition.
English

the wiki is biased and focuses on the (very real) police brutality that patients have suffered while in the midst of psychosis. however, excited delirium has standard protocols in place at my service and services everywhere. this is because there must be separate protocols in place for dealing with acute agitation vs excited delirium where patients are at immediate risk to their own health. i hope this clears things up
English

@grungepup98 Perhaps we are in different countries but I can promise you this happens in the USA.
English

@grungepup98 Maybe you personally do not but many or maybe even most paramedics do administer drugs per the instruction of (unqualified) LEO. It's not a secret.
English

@EllisVirgini @grungepup98 excited delirium absolutely is a real thing, the trouble is people get it mixed up with acute agitation. hope this helps
English

@seongweed @grungepup98 Excited delirium is not a real thing so whatever you say
English

@EllisVirgini @grungepup98 ?? i think you’re confused, ketamine is part of the treatment for excited delirium, it doesn’t cause it. - paramedic
