@Tesla I highly suggest you place a Service Center in Kernersville, NC. It sits in the middle of the Piedmont Triad area between Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point. That would conveniently serve 1.7 Million people. There may be old dealerships available you could convert.

Anyone have info on a new @Tesla dealership/service center in High Point, NC? Land was acquired earlier this year. Would be nice for the Triad to have a closer center

@MrSteveMatchett No first hand experience with making or eating, but a friend was a living history presenter. Certainly the vagaries of preparation could produce very different products. This video demonstrates very challenging hardness and interesting commentary: youtu.be/W9tdBrpp1V0?si…

@Ellsworth They seem remarkably easy to make. I’ve made two batches, the second included ground pepper, to spice ‘em up. Neither batch has provided ‘rock hard’ examples. Unless they age harden (considerably) I’m inclined to think that bit of their legend is mere myth. What’s your experience?

Today I am mostly making hardtack. Mostly. Seemingly, if baked correctly, these simple rations will last, remain perfectly edible for years, quite literally for years. A staple of navy life of the 1800s; the American civil war; the Great War, and beyond. So, let’s give ‘em a go!

@MrSteveMatchett …Eventually, I saw the prop people re-stacking hardtack on a platter. They had gone to no small amount of trouble to research and create the durable food, and never imagined that they saw as a picture-ready simulation of a primitive, nearly-inedible emergency ration were…

@MrSteveMatchett One morning while walking through a big encampment set on the movie “Gettysburg” I noticed a commotion. I saw the prop master and his assistants running around the farm field stopping reenactors, who sheepishly reached into their rucksacks and handed them something…

During our 1st @DukeEnergy outage with @lumos optical fiber landline installed, the Lumos line was still active (we have backup power), while @GetSpectrum service has been interrupted by the past three Duke service interruptions. That’s got us leaning toward Lumos broadband.

I can see how the rules of the game might vary a little between here and there, but this is surprising.

August 9, 2023 On this, the 78th anniversary of the plutonium fission bomb dropped on Nagasaki, I teared multiple times while watching the film #Oppenheimer. Bearing witness to my physics brethren, some reluctant, some enthusiastic, create weapons of mass destruction.

Just before dawn 68 years ago today on June 16, 1955 our ship sailed past the Statue of Liberty into New York Harbor and we began our life in America. It was an 11-day trip on the Italian ocean liner Conte Biancamano. Here's the receipt for the 5 of us. I was 15 years old

Note to @YouTubeTV viewers trying to watch recordings of #24HoursofLeMans2023 on @MotorTrendTV and finding too-short recordings: expand your player to display “versions” of the show segments - in this example, the first segment (E7?) is either 1 or 8 hours.

Wow. Until now, only Tesla owners benefited from Tesla’s nationwide charging infrastructure, allowing over-the-road fueling coverage. If other manufacturers follow suit this could make long-distance EV travel brand-agnostic much sooner. motortrend.com/news/general-m…

@MrSteveMatchett You’d really lose a shop space on about 8 floors front and rear for McPherson struts, and honestly, I don’t think the cost savings is worth it.

@MrSteveMatchett Not here in the States. I was thinking I’d seen a story about the moon buggy recently, but found this. The “Diamonds” picture was bought in Kent in the early ‘90s, and sold for US$20K in 2004 to a Las Vegas buyer. youtu.be/7U_bdg-rOTs
