🚨Heterogenous Agents with @BenitoSalomao & @Elmauer1 is on. Our goal is to make macro & political economics accessible. No inside ball. Just good analysis. We cover a range of topics from growth, monetary and fiscal policies, to the role of political economics in policy. 👇

6 years ago, while visiting MIT, I was kindly welcomed by Prof. @DAcemogluMIT, who has just won the 2024 Nobel Prize in Economics. Congratulations on your work, which deserves all this recognition from the scientific community.

My new article about the new patterns of inclusion in the world society has just been published. It is an approach that unites Luhmann's sociology with a vast body of data to corroborate some of the hypotheses outlined in his theory. Link: livrosabertos.sibi.usp.br/portaldelivros…

The end of poverty is possible. Each country shown on this chart achieved a large decline in extreme poverty over the last generation. This is one of the most important lessons we can learn from the available data: rapid progress against poverty can be achieved.

Liberty is hardly the natural order of things; usually states have been either too weak to protect individuals or too strong for people to protect themselves from despotism. There is also a happy Western myth where liberty exists, it's a steady state, arrived at by enlightenment
