The science is not ambiguous. Postponing HBV vaccine exposes newborns to preventable, lifelong risks. The universal birth dose has protected millions & is one of our strongest defenses. It must remain the standard for every child. Your voice drives that change. @RepShontelBrown

Proud mentor moment! Congrats to our GI hospitalist Dr. Niwen Kong for matching to an incredible program UPMC! It’s been my pleasure watching your growth ⭐️. Though pancreatology is your destiny, liver will always be in your ♥️. (BTW, I suck at wrapping 🎁) @AmCollegeGastro

✨ Honored & Grateful ✨ I am deeply humbled to receive the 2025 Inaugural GHAPP Clinical Excellence Award in Hepatology recognizing dedication and expertise in this field I hold so close to my heart. Although I could not be present for the award ceremony—as I am currently in the Philippines leading a LOLA Foundation mission—this recognition is a reminder that service takes many forms: whether at the bedside, in leadership, or in communities near and far. This award reflects the collective commitment of the incredible colleagues, mentors, and teams I have the privilege to work alongside at Stanford Healthcare and beyond. From advancing equity and inclusion as Co-Chair of the APP Diversity Committee at Stanford Health Care, to my current role as Co-Chair of the @NCSCG APP Committee, to founding the LOLA Foundation—each step has been fueled by collaboration, mentorship, and the belief that together, we can make a meaningful impact. Special gratitude to my NP students, APP fellows, and colleagues who continue to inspire me with their passion and drive. This award reminds me why we do what we do—for our patients, our communities, and the generations of providers to come. Here’s to continuing the work of advancing care, uplifting voices, and giving back—both at home and across the globe.🌎 @Stanford_GI @GastroHepAPP @NCSCG1 #hepatology #APP

@ebtapper Great to see this! As someone from Grand Rapids, really excited to see Dr. Hassan leading the way in transplant hepatology and advancing patient-centered care for cirrhosis here.

Remember that revolving door this @US_FDA said they were going to close? Seems that's taking a backseat in today's announcement of a former biotech CEO (Stanford affiliated) as the top drug regulator directing the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research: bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

🚨 Cutting employees from the U.S. Health and Human Services Department means fewer experts protecting public health, responding to crises, and ensuring patients get the care they need. Fewer workers = more risk for patients & physicians. apnews.com/article/health…

🚨 @drsforamerica represented by @Public_Citizen filed a lawsuit against the administration's unlawful removal of clinical information & datasets from federal health agencies' sites. Removing these critical resources we use to provide evidence-based care puts patients at risk.

Our FDA Task Force is on Capitol Hill to urge Congress to prioritize patients by increasing FDA funding for FY 2025. It is crucial that the FDA continues to serve as the “gold standard,” & that decisions based on industry influence do not undermine our institutions.
