A team of @MastercardFdn Scholars and Program Staff @Makerere are in Kabale for the Annual Service Day at Bwera Primary School, where they will hand over a refurbished classroom block and a new ventilated pit latrine, supported by @dfcugroup.

People achieve their full potential when they feel safe - @Makerere Vice Chancellor @ProfNawangwe while speaking at #Safeguarding signature message competition grand finale. The VC noted that the university is very intentional in ensuring that our students are safe while they pursue their studies. According to Professor @JustineNamaalwa, the @MCFMakerere Propramme Director, this campaign will run annually until 2032 as a way of sustaining awareness among the students.

At the press conference held today to brief the media about Makerere’s new strategic plan (2026/2026-2029/2030), I have emphasised the need to establish either a scholarship or a loan scheme for graduate students (postgraduate, masters and PhDs). Our strategy is to grow the number of graduate students from 3,800 to 7400 in the next five years.
