Zelensky waited too long. Throughout 2025, the President of Ukraine tried to win Trump’s favor — and now he is no longer willing to wait. Ukraine is building a new axis: Turkey as a mediator, Europe as the main defense partner, and joint weapons production replacing hopes for U.S. military aid. A new European security architecture is being shaped without U.S. commitments at its core. Kyiv is no longer tying its future to Washington. Source: Politico P.S. In just over a year, that orange scarecrow has turned America into an unreliable and deceitful ally. Even the birds on the trees know that the U.S. will come out of Trump’s second term weaker and far less respected. Restoring international trust will be nearly impossible.

- Kaja Kallas: "Washington is not trying to manage Europe. It is trying to dissolve it. They do not like the European Union,... The tactics, resemble those used by the EU's adversaries.. The answer is not bilateral deals with Trump. It is unity. Because when Europe stands together, it is an equal power. And that is exactly what Washington cannot stand."

NATO Is Disintegrating, And Only One Country Is Holding the Matches Donald Tusk, the Polish Prime Minister and a man who has spent his entire career watching Russia from uncomfortably close range, said out loud this week what every European leader has been whispering into their wine glasses for months. NATO’s greatest threat, he said, is “the ongoing disintegration of our alliance.” He was not talking about Russia. He was not talking about China. He was talking about the United States of America, which has just announced it will yank roughly 5,000 troops out of Germany over the next six to twelve months, because Washington is apparently furious that Berlin refused to cheer along for the Iran war like a good little ally should. This is, to use the technical term, absolutely mental. NATO has held together for 76 years through the Cold War, the collapse of the Soviet Union, 9/11, and every crisis the modern world could throw at it. It survived all of that. What it is apparently struggling to survive is a single American administration that treats collective defence like a loyalty programme you get kicked out of for not spending enough at the checkout. NATO said Saturday it is working with Washington to “understand the decision.” That is diplomatic language for standing in the kitchen after someone has driven a car through your living room wall, trying very hard to remain calm. The withdrawal would reduce American forces in Germany by about 14 percent. That is not nothing. Germany sits at the geographic and logistical heart of NATO’s European posture. Troops there are not decorative. They are the tripwire, the logistics hub, the signal to Moscow that an attack on one is an attack on all. Poland knows this better than anyone. Poland, which shares a border with both Russia and Belarus, and which has spent decades quietly building itself into one of the most serious military forces in Europe precisely because it understands that geography is destiny and history is not finished. When Tusk says the alliance is disintegrating, he is not being dramatic. He is being Polish. And in matters of Russian aggression and Western reliability, the Poles have an uncomfortable habit of being right. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

FIONA HILL: Massive weakness of Trump that Russia exploits is that Putin knows Trump himself is very prone to conspiracy theories. Putin knows that Trump lives in a world of memes and tropes on Truth Social, and he will take on board almost anything that is fed to him. When I was in Trump’s first administration, Trump would sometimes pick up on things, and you’d realize, “This is Russian propaganda.” That’s actually what I said during first impeachment. Russians are just amplifying all of this because they know Trump will believe it.

@bonnie56264 @AnnieForTruth @Ezim79 You’ve eloquently answered the question I have been pondering for 10 years. USA will have to do a huge charm offensive after Trump & his sycophant administration have been kicked out. Vengeful Dictators who ignore checks & balances must never be allowed to hijack democracy again.

@AnnieForTruth @Ezim79 🎯👍After Trump, not sure America will EVER get it's reputation & strength back. Who's going to trust us now? This ONE psychopath & his enablers have destroyed what took 250 yrs to build. It's truly amazing how easily this was accomplished. Now we know how Hitler came to power.

@gadiri28 @Mylovanov @Atk335 @ZelenskyyUa Won’t happen. Ukraine is too close to Russian territory & the radioactive fallout would devastate as much of Russia as it would Ukraine. If Russia wants Donbas & Crimea so badly, why would they nuke nearby? That’s accepting defeat.

Zelenskyy approved new drone strikes on Russia. Zelenskyy: Ukrainian drones — our long-range sanctions. 1,500 km range is no longer news. Russia’s oil sector, military logistics, production are legitimate targets. If Russia doesn't want diplomacy, it must be imposed on it. 1/

@LibertyCipher @ginamilan_ @Quester6789 @USATODAY @grok But surely, weaponising everyone in that environment means that people can be killed at a distance, unexpectedly. How do you defend yourself against such a killer if he’s a hidden assailant? That’s not a right to defend yourself, that’s surrendering to the killers gun. Bonkers.

In the state of nature (for example, a man on a deserted island), the right to protection necessarily includes the liberty to create, improve, acquire, and use the best available tools for that purpose. Imagine you are born alone on a desert island. You have a natural right to speak and express yourself, this includes the right to fashion writing tools, carve symbols in bark, build a printing press if you can, or trade with a passing ship for paper and ink. No one would say “you weren’t born with a pencil, so you have no right to write.” A natural right to build or procure shelter, food, and property, this includes the right to build a forge, smelt metal, invent tools, and trade what you produce. A natural right to protect your life and liberty from predators, rival castaways, or future threats. Therefore, you also have the right to create weapons; spears, bows, traps, or, if you have the knowledge and materials, a forge and a shotgun. If another castaway has built a forge and you voluntarily trade for a firearm, that exchange is an exercise of your natural rights to liberty, property, and contract. The fact that you were not “born with the weapon” is irrelevant. Rights attach to human action and reason, not to what you happen to possess at birth. The shotgun is simply the product of your labor, ingenuity, and voluntary exchange; exactly like the book you write with a pencil you made or acquired.
