@GovCanHealth I was wondering what supports are available to those on the autism spectrum and their caregivers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Health Passports are a good way to help people on the autism spectrum to communicate their needs to healthcare professionals. In an emergency or otherwise stressful situation this can tell someone how to provide proper care to these patients.

Children and adults on the spectrum have faced many barriers to accessing healthcare even before the pandemic. This article tells you how the situation has worsened for children and caregivers.

@FineAdin #EM203problems I enjoyed reading your concept map. Another problem relating to NFL concussions might be CTE which has, in some cases, been believed to increase violence and instances of domestic abuse in those who suffer repeated head injuries.

@Rifa_Khan15 #EM203problems Great concept map! Another problem with accessing Education is systemic discrimination. Differential treatment is applied to some students, while others are deprived of recourses and help they need to succeed. There is a lack of diverse teachers too.

We are learning in the digital age, which allows us to access any information through a simple search! These past weeks, I have learned the multiple theories for learning online and the modes of accessing & comprehending information (3M's). #EM203Robin

@em203slam That’s a good point. It’s not as cut-and-dry as one learning approach that always works for one person. I found that I am typically a visual learner, however in some instances it is more valuable to learn by doing.

@EM203DHenry Yes, in some ways technology can enhance our educational experience and in other ways inhibit our ability to learn when distracted.

Over past few weeks in EM203, I have learned technology has impacted our lives and the way we learn. This course has helped me understand any learning environment can be affected and by having distractions can influence the way we absorb information properly. #EM203Robin

@Em203Mallik Technology has come to impact every aspect of life in 2020 including education. As you said it is especially interesting to consider the ways technology is used in education during the current pandemic. I wonder if more classes will be conducted on zoom even after the pandemic.

@EM203bdenomme Yes! I also learned I am not as good at multitasking as I thought I was. The class experiment was very effective in proving that to me.

Really enjoying what we have learned so far in #EM203Robin. I have learned that I learn best using a "learning by doing" approach, along with little to no multitasking. I am excited to continue applying these theories to learning in the real world!
